Wij gaan met drie caravans ieder jaar weer opnieuw in het voorjaar naar deze camping. Het is er heel relaxed en gezellig met de kano's die langs komen. Er hangt een hele fijne sfeer op de camping en het is er eenvoudig maar dat maakt het een echte ardenne camping. Mensen die niet van veel luxe houden moeten ook niet kiezen voor een camping in de Ardennen.

Na reserveringsbevestiging voor plek aan de rivier, bleek bij aankomst dat er voor een overnachting van 1 nacht niet aan de rivier gestaan kon worden. Daarnaast is het erg lawaaiig op de camping tot laat in verband met de kanoverhuur naburig. Het sanitair was te vies om aan te pakken en de man aan de receptie was buitengewoon onvriendelijk. De campingplekken zelf zijn OK en de rivier is wel leuk. Kajakken is als kajakken op de kalverstraat in Amsterdam zo druk.

Camping de la Lesse is, vijftien jaar na mijn laatste bezoek, weinig meer dan vergane glorie.
De standplaatsen zijn vrij en ruim, maar het sanitair, vooral de herentoiletten, zijn werkelijk om te huilen, worden twee maal daags met een emmertje en dweiltje (!) schoongemaakt en zijn voor kinderen niet goed door te trekken. De regels op de camping worden totaal niet gehandhaafd, waardoor een op de camping aanwezig caravanverhuurbedrijf dag aan dag en avond aan avond voor overlast zorgt, (onder het mom 'gezellig', maar het is een nogal proletarische gezelligheid) waartegen klagen geen nut heeft en zelfs intimiderend (door de caravangasten) wordt opgetreden. Wij hebben zelfs voortijdig de tent moeten inpakken, omdat het beheer totaal niet wenste of durfde in te grijpen. Aanrader voor wie het leuk vind om een paar dagen in een verloederde achterbuurt vol Tokkies te staan ; kampeerders raad ik eender welke andere camping in de omgeving aan.

Eindelijk weer een ouderwetse camping, waar de auto bij de caravan mag staan. Er geen geëmmer is, dat 't gras beschadigt als je 'n zeiltje onder je tent legt. Kortom waar de natuur "natuurlijk" voor de ontspanning zorgt.
