From Limoges follow Périgueux signs (N21). In Châlus D6bis dir. Dournazac as far as Les Trois Cerisiers. Drive towards Nontron. Then follow signs for 4 km to Wakan Tanka/La Bûcherie.

Een heerlijke camping om even een dag of twee rust te nemen tijdens een doorreis. Een enthousiast en hartelijk ontvangst door de eigenaren, een ruim en schoon sanitair, 's morgens heerlijk vers brood en een schitterende omgeving en natuur om in te wandelen. Kortom wij camperaars hebben bij Wakan Tanka een paar dagen genoten!

We hebben genoten op deze zeer mooie groene camping met ruime plaatsen, schoon sanitair en gezelligheid. De omgeving is prachtig met kleine schattige dorpjes. Er is een heerlijk meer op 1 km, je kunt er heerlijke wandelingen maken. 's Morgens vers brood en als je geen zin hebt om te koken kun je altijd op het terras heerlijke kip of schnitzel met patatjes enz. enz. eten en een heerlijk glaasje wijn drinken. Kortom een heerlijke familiecamping!

Wij hebben (werderom) genoten van twee heerlijke weken vakantie op deze camping! Wakan Tanka is ruim opgezet met een prachtig overzichtelijk speelgedeelte voor de kinderen en een heerlijk ruim en schoon sanitair.
Onze zoon (10 jaar) heeft zich kostelijk vermaakt met zwemmen in het meer, rivierkreeften vangen, er op uit trekken in de natuur en natuurlijk het kanoën, boomklimmen en paardrijden in de buurt.
Wij hebben in alle rust kunnen genieten van de omgeving. De markten, mooie wandelingen, leuke dorpen en steden in de buurt geven een prima afwisseling.

De eigenaren van de camping zijn geweldige en behulpzame mensen. Hun dag begint met het verzorgen van heerlijke verse broodjes en eindigt met een kampvuur op het terras. Marsmallows voor de kinderen en regelmatig een spontaan muziekoptreden. Chapeau Ans en Ries!

Dichtstbijzijnde supermarkt is in Nontron, 18km ver. Nederlandse enclave in Frankrijk, sommige campingbewoners laten niet na dit te laten merken aan niet-Nederlanders ! Zeer mooie camping, zeer ruime douches ! Eten en drinken nogal duur. Bewegwijzering naar de camping is niet overal duidelijk. Handboogschieten moet je zeker doen, goeie begeleiding.

Wij vonden het nogal een tegenvaller. Dat lag enerzijds aan het tegenevallende weer anderzijds aan het gebrek aan comfort op de camping. Twee sterren camping betekent dus slapen op een houten verhoging die te klein is voor het matras. Een matras die de naam matras niet mag dragen, erg dun, zeer oncomfortabel (tipi). In de tipi verder nogal viezige pannen, een koekepan waar de anti aanbaklaag al jaren vanaf is, een snijplank die te vies is om te gebruiken. Ons idee was 1 week tipi en 1 week kant en klare bungalowtent , de 2e week bungalowtent hebben we afgekapt na 1 nacht (we zijn naar Parijs en disneyland gegaan). De tent viel ons tegen. Te klein, vooral ook het slaapdeel waar ik met mijn 1 meter 93 niet in paste (benen buiten de binnentent), ook hier weer een erg slecht bed, gewoon een luchtbed met een grootte van een twijfelaar waardoor je diep wegzakt in het bed en naar elkaar toerolt. De ander wordt wakker als de 1 zich omdraait. Verder vonden wij (en enkele andere gasten) de eigenaren niet bijzonder vriendelijk, behulpzaam of enthousiast. Vooral voor hem leek het runnen van de camping een straf, ik heb hem in 8 dagen geen 1 keer zien lachen. Tenslotte jammer dat we niets terug kregen van een week huur voor de tent die we slechts 1 nacht hebben gebruikt en nog voor wij uitcheckten alweer verhuurd was aan een andere familie.
Pluspunt: onze dochter van vier vond het heerlijk alle vrijheid om met nieuw gemaakte vriendinnetjes lekker rond te rennen en te spelen in het grote gebied, het was zo veilig en overzichtelijk voor haar dat ze ook uit zicht gewoon een uur zonder ons toezicht kon spelen en wij ons toch geen zorgen maakten.
Wij komen hier niet meer terug en zullen het niet aanraden. Het gebied vanaf limoges is ook bepaald niet mooi te noemen, nogal armoedig, het leek luik wel. Dordogne is veel mooier vanuit de kant van perigieux.
