We stopped for 2 nights to spend a day at Caen and Arromanches and would like to go back for at least a week to see more of the D Day museums and also the town of Seés. The campsite was excellent with flat pitches, clean (and roomy) toilets and showers, free hot water for dishes and hand laundry. The staff were very polite and happy to help with their English when my French failed me. The site is next to the old main road (the town is bypassed) so there was some traffic noise but not excessive in my view. A well stocked, medium sized, supermarket is across the road from the site and a good choice of restaurants and bars and the 13th century cathedral are within easy walking distance. We picked the site from the map because it's situation suited our travel plans but could not have done better and would certainly recommend it.
