Route:

From Argeles-Gazost follow the D918 (direction Col d'Aubisque) as far as the D13 direction Bun. Then follow Lac d'Estaing signs. Do not take the earlier exit to Estaing on the D918 with a caravan!

Een schitterende camping, zeker voor in de bergen met mooi kort geschoren plekken voor de caravan.
Sanitair is perfect en erg schoon.

Wij verbleven deze zomer met onze twee kinderen (9 en 6 jaar) op deze camping. Onze beoordeling is goed tot zelfs zeer goed. Wij hebben niets aan te merken op de camping zelf. De uitbaters van de camping daarentegen verdienen deze score niet. In onze contacten met hen waren zij telkens belerend en betweterig. De man deed zich vriendelijk voor, de vrouw leek alles teveel. Wij deden er na verloop van tijd alles aan om hen te mijden.
We weten niet hoe dit ondertussen op andere campings is, maar als ervaren kampeerders verwonderde het ons dat wij ons volledig verblijf bij aankomst moesten betalen. Hierover kregen we trouwens ook een hele preek. Allesbehalve een warme welkom.

De camping ziet er op het eerste gezicht verzorgd uit, met verschillende planten en bloemen. Onze kampeerplek was op zich mooi, maar direct naast de weg (met een heg ertussen). Het sanitair ziet er wel mooi uit, maar werd tijdens ons verblijf te weinig schoongemaakt. Bij het horecagedeelte is de mogelijkheid om buiten enkele spelletjes te doen (o.m. levensgroot dammen & schaken) maar de kinderen moeten daar wel heel correct mee omgaan anders kunnen ze een uitbrander krijgen. M.i. is deze camping vooral geschikt voor mensen zonder kinderen (honden zijn wel welkom). Onze kinderen (4 & 7) hebben zich wel vermaakt, maar wij stonden hier slechts 5 dagen. Overigens is het aan te raden om te reserveren; tijdens ons verblijf zat de camping echt vol.

Deze camping kennen wij sinds 1997 en hebben er inmiddels 6 keer gekampeerd, waarbij tussen onze vakantie dit jaar (2011) en de vorige keer (2004) wel 7 jaren zaten.

Ondanks deze lange tijd is ons wederom de camping als een warm bad bevallen: er is werkelijk sprake van persoonlijke attentie van de eigenaren. Er zijn zeer veel voorzieningen op de camping:
* heerlijke verse broodjes 's morgens,
* goede maaltijden 's avonds,
* prima uitleg over wandelingen in de omgeving
* prima whirlpool, 2 sauna-gelegenheden ,
* goed gesorteerde campingwinkel met alles wat je nodig hebt [ook verschillende verse groenten].
* Absolute rust op het kampeertrrein om 22.00 uur. Ik lees in verschillende commentaren dat een plek bij de pingpongtafel een probleem is, maar wij hebben daar direct naast gestaan en de kinderen werden consequent bij teveel herrie en sowieso om 21.30 uur gesommeerd om te stoppen met spelen door Pascal. Feitelijk dus geen last. Kinderen moeten ook kunnen spelen.

Ons verblijf was voor het eerst in mei 2009 en voor herhaling vatbaar in september 2009. Omdat het verblijf in mei zo goed was bevallen, zijn we zeer bewust in september nog een keer geweest. Overigens in beide periodes was het weer redelijk tot matig, veel regen met wel een prima temperatuur voor onder andere wandel- en fietstochten, die zijn daar in de regio echt super. Dus wij gaan zeker weer :-)
