Camping Le Fief Melin is situated on the charming island of Île d’Oléron off the west coast of France. You’ll be camping just 1.8 km from the Atlantic Ocean and right next to the centre of Le Château-d'Oléron. This lovely family-friendly campsite features a heated swimming pool, a bar and a shuttle bus to the beach. Fun (sporting) activities are also organised. The island is an ideal holiday destination for lovers of water sports, walking and cycling.

Friendly welcome by the lady at reception who spoke good English which was a big help for us. Indeed most of the staff spoke better English than our French! Decent sized pitches but it was a bit of a stretch for ECU on our pitch. Toilets and showers were clean but perhaps could do with a few more. Nice pool and small bar ideal for a cold beer at the end of a hot day.

Plugs in sinks or a recessed plug hole so you can use your own plug as its difficult trying to have a wash with push taps and no plug. More toilets and showers.

We really liked the staff who were very accommodating and helpful. The pitch was a good size and very shady. Toilets and showers were clean and we never had to wait to use them.
