What a shame, this could be a very good site. Instead it was a terrible experience, with maximising income for the company placed far ahead of maximising enjoyment for the visitors! The pitches were crammed so close together as to make it very unpleasant. There were a few good pitches (though still close together), used for large outfits, but for us and others with a small motorhome, we were put in odd tiny spaces. Ours was no more than 20 sq. metres (our van occupied 12 sq metres of this!), with no room to sit out or extend our awning. Had we not had a very tiring journey (road works everywhere!) we would not have stayed at all. As it was, we put up with it for 2 nights in order to see Freiburg which is an attractive city, though mostly rebuilt after the war. The site experience was probably the worst in over 40 years of camping and we recommend staying elsewhere and travelling into Freiburg if you wish to see the city.

We stayed one night here in April '11. The host was excellent. He spoke wonderful english and suggested a very instructive tour of the city. The campsite is within walking distance of all the main sights and is reasonably easy to find. It's hardly a resort style campsite but does a good job of providing a reasonable place to stay close to the city centre.
