In diesem abgelegenen, landschaftlich sehr schönen Teil Lettlands eine Bleibe zu finden, ist gar nicht so einfach. Dünn besiedelt, kaum Campingplätze. Dieser ist an der Hauptstraße Riga-Daugavpils obendrein schlecht angezeigt. Mit den GPS-Koordinaten ist er allerdings zuverlässig anzusteuern. Von der Straße zweigt ein leicht zu übersehender schmaler Fahrweg (hier kleines Schild und ACSI-Aufkleber) ab und führt ca. 200 m durch einen Wald auf eine große Wiese hoch über dem Ufer der Daugava. Der Platz war bis auf ein kleines Zelt leer, und wir sahen zunächst niemanden. Dann näherte sich eine freundliche, etwas englisch sprechende Frau, wohl die Besitzerin. Sie zeigte uns die einzige vorhandene Steckdose sowie ein ordentliches WC im Haus der Familie. Duschen sahen wir nicht. Trotz der spärlichen Ausstattung hat es uns gut gefallen, und wir können den Platz Wohnmobilisten als ruhige und sichere Bleibe (für 5 Lats/7 Euro) empfehlen.
