We were warned that the site was very muddy when we arrived and told to look around first. The pitches weren't suitable to pitch on for motorhomes in such condition, without traipsing lots of mud into the vans, but we did pitch up on the hard standing parking as we wanted to be close to Porto and this was the best site for that. Staff very helpful for the bus into Porto. Showers were stone cold and no explanation offered as to why.

De camping is goed gelegen om Porto en Vila Nova de Gaia te bezoeken. Er is een rechtstreekse busverbinding naar het centrum van Porto en je kan via de wandel- en fietspromenade langs de Douro eveneens tot in het centrum wandelen of fietsen. De afstand is ongeveer 12 kilometer. Op de camping zijn de standplaatsen niet afgebakend wat voor een nogal rommelig geheel zorgt. Er is een makkelijk bereikbaar servicepunt voor campers.

Voor een 4 sterrencamping hadden wij veel meer verwacht. Er waren veel te weinig douches en de wc's waren echt vies. Ook de sfeer op de camping was niet zo goed. De camping ligt zeer dichtbij zee en bij Porto. Maar in Madalena zelf is er helemaal niets te zien. Het zwembad was wel zeer goed. Niet voor babytjes. Er is een gedeelte van 1.40m en 2.40m.

Grote, een beetje rommelige camping waar iedereen door elkaar staat. Wij hadden een prima standplaats. Het strand is schitterend en de bus naar Porto, vanwege alle nauwe straatjes waar de bus door moet, een ervaring op zich! Wij hebben ook eenvoudig gegeten en zowel de bediening als het eten waren in orde! Het zwembad ziet er uitstekend uit en al met al een redelijke Camping om Porto te bezoeken!

Vorig jaar (2006) eind augustus, hebben wij de camping bezocht. Mooie bosrijke camping. Beetje moeilijk te vinden. Strand stelt niet zo veel voor en het dorp op zich ook niet. Maar een goede camping om vandaar de omgeving te verkennen,vooral Porto. Toiletten/douches waren niet schoon, werden 's morgens schoon gemaakt en vervolgens daarna niet meer. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Klein zwembad. redelijk veel te verkrijgen in de campingwinkel en restaurant. Niet alle electra-punten waren aangesloten. Bus naar Porto vlak bij. Buiten het sanitair (schoonmaken mocht wel wat vaker gebeuren) zijn wij goed te spreken over deze camping!
