I found Angby one of the better campistes I've stayed on. As well as the usual facilities, there was plenty of shade in the free camping area, the toilets/showers were spotless, there were OK cooking facilities, and above all the staff were extremely friendly and willing to go the extra mile (for example I took the Viking cruise to Helsinki and so was away for 48 hours, the staff let me leave my bags at reception).

I tried to make a reservation at Angby Camping Stockholm a few months ago for my little group of 3 Campers/Caravans who are making a Tour of Scandinavia and was advised by the campsite that it was ‘First come, first served basis as they do not make reservations, but there would be NO PROBLEM in May 2010’. So we arrive and are advised that the campsite is FULL!

After some pleading and reference to my e-mails we get the OK for 3 Places, and then watch during the next 1.5 hours 5 other Caravans/Campers ‘check in’! How kind of the owner? Toilets & cooking facilities are quite old and not very good, site is also expensive for what they offer.

Het is dit jaar de tweede keer dat ik in de winter op deze camping heb gekampeerd. Van te voren aangekondigd dat ik met de jaarwisseling aan zou komen. Dit was geen enkel probleem, ik kon het verschuldigde bedrag van 100 kronen (ongeveer een tientje) per nacht voor 2 personen met tent in de brievenbus deponeren.
Een week later kwam ik terug omdat het wel erg koud werd in Tyresta (-25 C) en wel de warmte en comfort van een hut wilde voelen. We namen een 5-persoonshut (om onze bevroren tent uit te kunnen hangen) met tv (veel kanalen), koelkast, en kookplaat voor 450 kronen per nacht en gratis gebruik van sauna en douche. Het zal in de zomer wel anders zijn maar we mochten onze boardingcards gratis en voor nop uitprinten. Metro brengt je in 25 min naar de Gamla Stan en rijdt iedere 8 minuten. Tips:Vlieg je vanaf Arlanda, neem de taxi (485 kronen per rit) vanaf Brommaplan (5 minuten met metro), een rit met de trein vanaf Tcentralen is met 2 personen net zo duur! Thai takeaway naast metro is super.

De douches zijn erg klein en zonder afscheiding, waardoor kleren nat worden. De meeste mensen kleden zich buiten de douches om. Muntjes automaat is bij de entree en niet in de douche. Alles heeft een "verwaardeloosde indruk" terwijl het toch schoon is. De plaatsen hebben "Spaanse" maten. Dus klein. Water bij plaats door middel van een dikke waterslang die in de zon ligt. De camping is te duur voor wat het te bieden heeft. Wel ideaal voor een dagje Stockholm.
