Questions

My ACSI

When you register for My ACSI you receive an e-mail containing a confirmation link. You need to click on this link to activate your account. Then you can log in.
You can click on ‘Forgotten password’ using the login window of My ACSI. You then need to enter the e-mail address that you used for My ACSI and click on ‘Send’. You will receive your My ACSI password at your e-mail address.
Unfortunately it is not currently possible to change your e-mail address in My ACSI. You will have to register again with your new e-mail address.
This problem probably has something to do with the way Garmin works. It searches automatically for useful places in your current location unless you specify a different one. You can overcome this problem by first selecting the ‘Where to?’ function in the start-up screen of your Garmin. First click on ‘Close to…’ in the menu bar at the bottom. You can specify here the area in which you want to search for a camp site. Then go with the arrow at the bottom right of the screen 1 level down. Select ‘Extras’ in the screen that appears. Then select ‘Some interesting places’. Then all the camp sites close to the place you specified should be displayed.
Garmin and TomTom are the most widely used navigation systems. We therefore have a detailed user manual for these two systems which you can use to place the coordinates into your system step by step. Additionally we offer the possibility to download a CSV file. You can use this file if you have a navigation system other than Garmin or TomTom. Unfortunately we cannot offer any support for implementing this CSV file. If you have any questions or experience any problems regarding this implementation we advise you to get in contact with your navigation system’s manufacturer.
You need to select the make of your navigation system in the ‘preferences’ tab and to save it. Then you can download the required coordinates in the ‘GPS’ tab.
To keep things simple it is only possible to download one file with the coordinates. It is also possible to save an icon here which you can use for the coordinates (right click on the icon and on Save as). Take note: this icon must be placed in the same directory as the ov2 file and must be renamed using the same name as the ov2 file. In other words if the ov2 file is named, for example 123141342343.ov2, the file name for the icon will be 123141342343.bmp
This can happen if the navigation system is not correctly calibrated. For our coordinates the system must be set to degrees and decimals. It can also happen that the X and Y coordinates are reversed.

Online booking

You will recognise camp sites that can be booked online by the orange ‘Book now’ button. You can also find these camp sites using the ‘online booking’ heading in the left hand menu on www.eurocampings.eu.
If you have any questions about the details of what you have booked or wish to book, the best thing is to contact the camp site directly. They will be able to tell you more. You may also wish to make use of the ‘information request’ tab on that particular camp site’s website.
The camp sites themselves are responsible for what they offer in any period for online booking via www.eurocampings.eu. They have total control of the reservation system and it can be assumed that the accommodation shown as available is up to date.
If you make a booking you will immediately receive a confirmation of this booking from the system by e-mail. It may occur that the camp site also sends you a confirmation but in principal that is not necessary. As participating camp sites decide for themselves how many camping pitches and how much accommodation they offer when available via the reservation system, you can assume that your booking is immediately definite.
No, this is not possible. A credit card number is required when making a booking, even if payment is not being made by credit card. In this case it serves merely as a validation. The camp site itself can indicate whether they will be charging the payment by credit card or by invoice. With the latter you will receive an invoice from the camp site. It may therefore happen that you have filled in your credit card number but that nothing will be charged to your credit card.
When you make a booking you will receive a confirmation of that booking instantly by e-mail. On it will be shown your login details for ‘My ACSI’. If you log in using these details you can cancel your reservation. The Terms & Conditions of the camp site will however apply. You will have accepted these conditions during the booking process. You can review the Terms & Conditions via a link in the booking confirmation that you received by e-mail.
If you have to cancel a booking the camp site’s terms & conditions will apply. You can view these conditions via a link in the booking confirmation that you received by e-mail. This will inform you whether you are liable for a payment to the camp site.
You will always pay the booking costs direct to the camp site.
The camp site is obliged to check your credit rating within 48 hours of payment by credit card. If the camp site is unable to charge the deposit or booking fee to your card it has the right to cancel your booking. When a payment is made by bank transfer the camp site has 30 days to dispatch the invoice and check that payment has been received. The camp site may only cancel the booking during this period if the payment has not been received on time.
This varies according to the camp site. The camp site must indicate whether they will charge your credit card or send you an invoice. You will be aware of this as soon as you confirm a booking.
If you cannot make a booking as the result of an error in the system you should contact the ACSI Online Reservation Helpdesk. Call +31(0)488 452055 and ask for the Help Desk.

Campers

You will find the rates, opening times, amenities and a description and address of the camp site by consulting directly the information of a particular camp site. There are several different ways to access detailed information about any camp site.
As a rough estimate, there are about 40,000 sites throughout Europe which could be described as recreational camp sites. ACSI’s 305 inspectors visit and check just over 8,400 of the higher quality sites every year. We should point out that in a country such as France, which has at least 11,000 camp sites, ACSI cannot possibly include them all in its database. However, we will always be pleased to hear from you if you know of a camp site which you think deserves to be included.
Before departure you can get information about your planned destination from the websites of the various National Tourist Offices. Once you have arrived at your holiday destination the Local Tourist Office can give advice and information about places of interest and other tourist attractions.
The rates you will see are guide prices which may differ from the actual amount charged by a camp site. For this reason we give two different guide prices. Price 1 is the rate for an overnight stay in high season. Included in this are the charges for 2 adults, a caravan and a car, with electricity and tourist taxes. Extra amenities are not included in this price. Price 2 is calculated on the high season rate for 2 adults, 2 children aged 6 and 9, a caravan and a car, with electricity and tourist taxes. Extra amenities are also not included here.
You can download these lists by clicking on the heading ‘Extra information’ and then ‘Amenities’. You can choose the option ‘Wintersports’ and/or ‘Disabled’.

Camp site owners

If your camp site is not featured on this website it could be because your organisation is not known to ACSI. In this case you can apply for registration by writing to ACSI. If your camp site is approved by an ACSI inspector during the 2010 season, it will appear in the Camp Site Guide and on the website from January 2011.

You can also register your camp site using the form for requesting a visit.
The editorial teams of ACSI’s Camp Site Guide and Eurocampings can only make changes to your name and address details. Any changes relating to situation, amenities and descriptions should be passed on to the inspector who will revisit your site. On the basis of the inspector’s findings, the alterations may or may not be made.
If a photo of your camp site is included in your advertisement in one of ACSI’s Camp Site Guides, this will be included without charge on the Eurocampings website. If the photo from your advertisement is not shown on the website, do not hesitate to make contact with the sales department of ACSI Publishing BV.
If your camp site is featured on this website you can use the ACSI logo in your leaflets or on your own website. You will find the ACSI logo on www.acsi-media.com . If you want to download the logo you should click on the ‘logo’ tab in the horizontal menu bar.

It is not permitted to alter the logo. You may enlarge it or reduce it. Also, ACSI does not permit its logo to be distributed in printed form or digitally, except in your own camp site leaflets or website. If you wish to use the logo for other purposes you should obtain prior permission from ACSI Publishing BV.
ACSI offers advertisers in any of its Camp Site Guides the opportunity to purchase this feature. This hyperlink offers earlier exposure to visitors using the ‘camp sites with a website’ option. You can only feature your hyperlink if you also advertise in one of the printed versions of the Camping Guides.
