In the countryside of the south-western corner of France, in the town of Lelin-Lapujolle, lies Camping le Soleil du Gers. Le Soleil du Gers is a quiet campsite with pitches between green trees, with a hospitable owner and a lovely swimming pool. Advance booking for peak season is advisable.

Amiable holiday atmosphere

The owner, Mrs Sarrato, is a walking encyclopedia of tourist information about sights and activities in the area. There are 86 pitches on her campsite. These are divided in touring pitches, sites for mobile homes, gîtes and paved pitches for motorhomes.

Colours on the campsite

The pitches are located along dirt roads between colourful plants. The campsite radiates a remarkable calmness. The grounds are clearly well-tended while maintaining their natural vegetation. It is nice to see that trees determine the size of the pitches while demarcating them at the same time.

The campsite lies on the Santiago de Compostella pilgrimage route. This explains the mobile homes and gîtes, which provide accommodation to pilgrims. Although the campsite exudes tranquillity, it is also a perfect base for attending the races on the Nogaro racing circuit, located at some 20 km from the campsite.

Swimming and fishing

The swimming pool and the separate toddler pool are both designed in a kind of drop shape. Next to the pool there are a few loungers on which to soak up the sun or to enjoy the shade. The campsite borders on a lake which suitable for angling, but not really for swimming! Adjacent to the swimming pool is a shop with a limited assortment.

Vieze verwaarloosde bende, oud en veelal onbruikbaar sanitair, zwembad vies en bezet door kolonie kikkers, terrein al jaren niet onderhouden, snackbar is een oud speelhol

De camping is jammer genoeg geheel vervallen. Dit heeft wel voor even een frans sfeertje. Het zou een fantastische camping kunnen zijn mits goed onderhouden of vernieuwd. Helaas ook vuil en kapotte dingen. Eigenaren vriendelijk.
