In the Campania region, south of the town of Salerno, lies campsite La Foce dei Tramonti at the mouth of the Sele river. This modest, small-scale campsite is situated near the famous excavations of Paestum, the ancient city with its beautiful Greek temples (UNESCO World Heritage).

Camping by the sea or the river

La Foce dei Tramonti looks very well-tended, with lots of greenery and beautiful flowering plants. You are warmly welcomed at the reception. Paved, parallel running pathways lead to the pitches at the far end of the campsite. These vary in size, but are all sufficiently spacious and partly demarcated with plants or hedges.

The most beautiful pitches are located on the promontory jutting out into the sea, but these are also the least shaded. The pitches by the river are ideal for fishing enthusiasts. There is a special area for motorhomes with a view of the sea. You can also rent a bungalow.

Enjoy the delicious regional dishes

There is a small swimming pool for young children on the campsite. The pool is surrounded by a few loungers and sun umbrellas. The sandy beach belonging to the campsite can be reached via a flight of stairs. Furthermore, there is a bar and a restaurant-pizzeria with a modest menu (take-away possible). You can go here for delicious regional dishes. The service is friendly and you can eat al fresco on a covered terrace at large wooden tables. There is also a small supermarket on the grounds.

The sanitary facilities look impeccable. The showers with solar collectors are located at the front near the reception.

De camping was prima, keuze uit aan de zee of onder de bomen. Sanitar eenvoudig maar schoon. Restaurant met huis gemaakte gerechten. Afwas gelegenheid op je sta plek. Zeker een camping om nog eens terug te komen.

Heerlijke camping direct aan zee met zand - kiezelstrand. Fernando als campingbaas werkelijk een perfecte gastheer, met gevoel voor humor. Sanitair eenvoudig maar schoon. Omgeving erg bezienswaardig en locatie camping rustig en uniek.

Wat een sympathieke beheerder/eigenaar. Super behulpzaam en houdt zijn camping goed op orde. Ruime plekken en eigen (kiezel) strandje. Wij zijn alleen enorm afgeknapt op de omgeving. Buiten de camping zag je nog geen halve meter berm langs de wegen zónder afval. Oude meubels, kinderspeelgoed en ontelbare plastic flessen, als je het niet gezien hebt, kun je het je niet voorstellen. Fietsen is absoluut levensgevaarlijk. Met gevaar voor eigen leven toch pogingen gedaan. Niets moois gezien m.u.v. de Griekse tempels daar lag ook geen afval, alles keurig. Wij zijn na 3 dagen vertrokken naar de oostkust.
