Outstanding campsite, facilitating, caravans, motorhomes, tents, camping pods, all on terraced pitches with outstanding views over the rolling hills and Ullswater. Very cleanly kept site with immaculate toilets, showers, etc, washing up area and launderette. Great camp site bar!! Old worldy with a roaring fire, Lovely!! Sometimes live entertainment. A nice childrens play field. Very peaceful site also. It is a green site for recycling everything! Staff are all very friendly and helpful. It is a definite site to visit for walkers, hikers, outdoor enthusiasts and all really. The village of Pooley Bridge is just a couple of miles away with its Ullswaters steamers pier. Penrith, Keswick and other market towns are also nearby. Plenty to do in and around the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

Unimpressed camper, on this campsite in August 2009

Travelling party: Young couple

Dreadful campsite. Staff were unfriendly, the tents and caravans were packed into every available space. Screaming children everywhere and I saw several dog owners allowing their pets to foul outside caravans (not their own obviously!). Would never even conisider going there again. Very expensive for a very small pod too.
