The quiet family campsite Val d'Or is located in the north of Luxembourg. Here you are in the middle of the Luxembourg Ardennes and the German-Luxembourgish Nature Park. Ideal for long walks, cycling trips or mountain bike rides. The campsite itself is a nice haven of peace, situated in the golden valley (Val d'Or) that is full of yellow flowers, especially in the summer months. The green campsite is divided in two by the small river Clerve. Most camping pitches are situated on the back part of the campsite. At the front you will find the hiker's huts and mobile homes.

Campsite for the active public

On this car-free campsite, you will quickly feel at one with nature. Your fellow campers are mainly nature lovers. Walkers, cyclists, hikers and active families will be in their element at this campsite. After an active day, you can relax on the restaurant patio and replenish your energy reserves. You can order dishes from the small menu, but you can also take a meal with you to your pitch. Moreover, you can pick up your breakfast here every morning, freshly delivered by the local baker.

Playing with water

For children there is plenty to do at Camping Val d'Or. The campsite itself is actually one big playground with many lawns, sports fields, playgrounds and the river of course. The playgrounds have fun equipment. The water of the river is very shallow, so that the small campers can splash about and build dams to their heart's content.

Op zondag aangekomen. Helaas op zondag alles dicht. Receptie , bistro. Staat niet vermeld in acsi app.Sanitair niet echt schoon die dag.

.Onpersoonlijk.Je hoeft bij aankomst en vertrek je niet te melden. Op Zuid zijn er te weinig toiletten voor de vele campinggasten. We stonden op een grote mooie plaats met de caravan. Gezellige mensen om ons heen. De snackbar heeft goede snacks en patat. Een leuk extra voor de kinderen is de beek, om erin te spelen en te vissen. Weinig vriendelijkheid . Een vraag beantwoorden met ja of neen, wordt beantwoord met , Ik ben klaar met mijn werk, ga maar naar de receptie tot tweemaal toe.

Niet aan te bevelen.
In de 30 jaar dat wij kamperen hebben we zoiets nog nooit meegemaakt en dat alles komt door de houding van de eigenaar. Niet luisteren, niet communiceren en geen blijk van reflectievermogen.
Je krijgt voordat je gaat 2 mails met daarin 2 filmpjes hoe je dient te rijden. Die filmpjes kloppen wel als je van een bepaalde kant afkomt, helaas reden wij vanaf de andere kant en arriveerden op het verkeerde gedeelte en je kunt met je combinatie niet keren en de man eiste dat er achteruit gestoken moest worden met campers achter ons, niet dus.Dat resulteerde in zeer onaangename confrontatie met de eigenaar die vertelde dat daarvoor nou de ‘ instructiefilms’ gemaakt werden. Let wel, instructie. Geen helpende of service beelden, dus dom als je de instructie niet opvolgde. Toen wij besloten op een rustiger plaats te keren ging de eigenaar los en zette ons van het terrein af. Het heeft heel wat moeite gekost om het gesprek normaal aan te gaan tot 3x toe. Het liefst waren we gegaan, maar ja Hemelvaart en alles zou vol zitten. Kortom buiten zeer onaangenaam. Later hoorden wij van andere gasten dat dit gedrag geen uitzondering is.
Als eigen personeel aan mij excuses gaat aanbieden voor het gedrag van hun de eigenaar lijkt het wel duidelijk.
Enkele feiten:
2 portcabinachtige wc’s op de zuidkant voor meer dan 35 plaatsen. Comfortplaatsen waar achteloos graszoden gelegd waren om de gaten op te vullen, zie de foto’s,
In de rij staan bij het centrale sanitair op noord voor je behoefte en een toegewezen douchetijd van 5 minuten.
Daarheen gaan is af te raden, ondanks dat het riviertje dat door de camping loopt leuk is om aan te staan.
Voor een christelijke camping hebben wij de naastenliefde niet ondervonden.
