Camping La Buganvilla is located on the Costa del Sol, between Málaga and Marbella. This large terraced campsite is situated seven hundred metres from the Mediterranean Sea. On the terrain and around the buildings you can see purple flowers everywhere, namesakes of the campsite. There are mainly touring pitches. You can winter on this campsite, because it is open all year round.

Both sun and shade

The campsite has an open character: the pitches are clearly marked out, but without vegetation in between. This enhances the view, but you don't have much privacy on your pitch. The ground is hard, whether you're standing on sand or grass. There are both sunny and shady pitches available. However, all tent pitches are in the shade of the old pine trees on the lower part of the campsite.

Costa del Sol

At the entrance to the campsite there is an outdoor swimming pool that is open all year round. There is also a large paddling pool for the little ones. Both swimming pools are situated right in the sun. All around is a large sunbathing lawn directly adjacent to the sidewalk café of the restaurant. If desired, the necessary shade is provided. Attention beach lovers: the Mediterranean Sea can be reached via a footbridge over the road and is about seven hundred meters from the campsite.

Moorish Marbella

The bus to Marbella stops in front of the campsite entrance. The old Moorish town centre is certainly worth a visit, but the town is primarily a fashionable seaside resort on the Costa. Enjoy the extensive beaches, prestigious pleasure port, small streets and atmospheric bars.

Travelling party: Young couple

Liked - This site does not meet the basic requirements for motorhomes etc. The pitches are too narrow and the road service is appalling. Also It is a con to say you must stay a minimum of four nights. Prices are overrated for what you get. Ladies shower had no hot water in the top block. Entrance to the water dump is shocking. Restaurant being refurbished so cannot comment on that. Disappointing site we left two days early as did two other vans. Isolated site near busy road. Staff are an asset to this site.
Disliked - Widen pitches, improve road services. The right turns into the roads are way to narrow and hazardous.

Liked - Showers were hot but sprinklers need amending as they spray more around you than on you.
Pitches tight but manageable.
Area around grey & black waste tight with approach road under 2 large pine trees where there roots have uplifted the tarmac making it very difficult to pass.
Disliked - Very compact, with long term tents/ caravans looking in disrepair & tired.

Very clean toilet facilities and friendly, helpful staff in the office.

Liked - Lovely clean facilities, and once you’re on your pitch they are reasonably level and big enough. Short but slightly scary walk alongside A7 to bus stop, supermarket and a few restaurants, all of which were friendly and good value. Would definitely come back here, staff were helpful and nice.
Disliked - A7 road noise can’t be helped, but only grumble is the difficulty getting onto some pitches and the state of some campsite roads. Tight squeeze round other campers and trees!

Liked - Nice easy going site with good facilities and lovely pool. Frequent buses to Marbella or Fuengirola from stops 5 minutes from site
Disliked - Not a very nice walk from site to shops etc along side of motorway
