On the edge of the Hoge Kempen National Park, just across the border near the Flemish town of Maasmechelen, lies Recreation Resort Kikmolen. At this campsite you will find beautiful touring pitches on small grassy areas scattered throughout the wooded campsite. Walk or cycle directly from the campsite into the multifaceted nature park, or take a dip with your children in the large swimming lake with its water slides.

The campsite is located about 5 minutes from the A2 highway. Take exit 33 towards Lanaken and you will soon find yourself in the wooded area of the campsite. These forests are part of the Hoge Kempen National Park, the large Flemish nature reserve on the Kempen plateau. From the campsite, you can walk or cycle straight to the Hoge Kempen National Park.

Camping on small grassy fields

Most of this large campsite consists of permanent year-round sites. Nearly 130 more touring pitches are scattered around the campsite on separate grassy fields. Nice modern sanitary buildings with rooms for disabled people, baby rooms are close to the touring pitches.

Swimming in the natural pool

The extensive swimming lake at the front of the campsite is ideal for young swimmers or kids who can't yet swim (properly). Much of the lake is quite shallow, making it safe for even the youngest to swim.

Hoge Kempen National Park

From the campsite, you can walk or cycle straight to the Hoge Kempen National Park. There are some 200 kilometres of hiking trails in this more than 5,700-hectare nature reserve.

Liked - Goede hygiëne
Disliked - Onvriendelijk personeel aan de receptie. Onveilig gevoel door vaste “bewoners” die hun kinderen te pas en te onpas alle hoeken van de trailer lieten zien met bijhorend getier en gehuil. Wij zijn een dag eerder vertrokken. Honden zijn ook niet bepaald welkom. Al mogen de vaste klanten die in de (gigantisch grote) ‘geen honden’-zone wonen dan wel een hond meebrengen en daarmee rondlopen.

Liked - Tijdens ons verblijf was het heel rustig. Proper sanitair. Prachtige omgeving.
Disliked - Bij de vraag of we met bancontact konden betalen werden we afgesnauwd. Tijdens wedstrijd van de Belgen op het groot scherm werd er continu door vele vaste klanten gerookt in het café. Er waren erg veel kinderen aan het meekijken. Basketbalveld was verloederd. Geen voetbal of volleybalveld. 1 van de 2 glijbanen van de zwemplas werd 1 keer 1u geopend. De rest van ons verblijf geen glijbanen kunnen doen. Hoewel ze hiermee pronken op de website.

Liked - waterdruk slecht, douche te heet, kan niet met de hand instellen, wifi en stroom valt geregeld uit.

Liked - Plek die we aangewezen kregen was andere dan op papier. Geen overleg over welke plek we wilden. Geen goede uitleg bij ontvangst.
Geen animatie boekje gekregen of boekje met info over de camping

Door slecht weer veel onder gelopen speel toestellen
Indoor speelhal ook bij slecht weer pas 12 uur open

Travelling party: Seniors

Liked - Het domein is een verborgen schat die jammerlijk slecht is onderhouden. Goede broodjes service en winkel. Tof dat er een frituur en een brasserie en cafe is.
Disliked - Sanitair is oud maar proper. Het stinkt erg onaangenaam id sanitaire blok. Erg onvriendelijke ontvangst door een oude gefrustreerde man die niet weet om te gaan met KLANTEN. Nood aan onderhoud vd gebouwen, wegen, vaste standplaatsen waar wrakken van stacaravans staan of vervallen chalets. Je zou er iets heel moois kunnen van maken !!

Liked - Heel proper sanitair.
Disliked - Heel onvriendelijk aan de receptie!
En omdat we einde seizoen kwamen,waren zwemvijver en winkeltje dicht wat begrijpelijk is,maar dan mocht er wel iets van de prijs af.

Liked - Zwemvijver was heel fijn.
Disliked - Één van de twee broers aan het onthaal was ronduit onbeleefd aan het onthaal. Een ´mmm´ gebaar vind ik ongepast als verwelkoming, gelukkig kwam de andere broer ter hulp. Douchekrediet is iets van de jaren 80.

Liked - Mijn dochter heeft ze goed vermaakt met de glijbanen en de animatie. Helaas was de animatie doordat 1 van de personen stopte de laatste week niet meer veel.
Disliked - De onaardigheid van de receptie, desinteresse en dat ze erg moeilijk doen over waar je gaat staan op een veldje. Het douchen en afwassen of gebruik maken van de wastafel moet allemaal met een sleutel om warm water te krijgen. Zo onpraktisch. Dan betaal ik liever iets meer voor mijn vakantie en dat je gewoon water kunt gebruiken. Voor het douchen is geen probleem dat is wel vaker. Al douch ik zelf koud maar dat kon dus ook niet want er valt niks in te stellen bij de douches.

Liked - Schandalig veel geluidsoverlast na 22 uur. Bepaalde vaste verblijvers denken waarschijnlijk dat hen alles gepermitteerd is !!! Aan de uitbating om daar tegen op te treden ! Mij zien ze er niet meer terug …. Mijn oververmoeide kinderen ook niet meer … helaas, ze keken er zo naar uit ! Ditwas dan ook de reden van ons vroegtijdig vertrek !
Disliked - Sanitair was prima !
