Located on the Belgian river the Lesse, at some 300 m from the famous Caves of Han-sur-Lesse, lies the small-scale camping site Grottes de Han. The terrain of the modestly laid out camping site is approx. one ha in size and is surrounded by trees. There are no facilities such as a swimming pool, shop or eateries. You are only an hour's drive away from Brussels. A great day of shopping and tasting of culture makes up for this! You can rent mountain bikes from the camping site. Convenient for trips in the area, such as to the well-known Game Park and the centre of the village of Han-sur-Lesse.
Camping site Grottes de Han is located on an open terrain surrounded by trees. The grass is well-tended, but everything else is without any frills or amenities. There are a few trees on the lawns. The camping site management allocates the size of the pitches according to the level of occupancy. The first half of the terrain consists of sixty touring pitches. The far end of the camping site is taken up by the permanent pitches (fifty caravans).
You will not find a camping site shop or eatery here. However, there is a large covered barbecue area, great for a communal barbecue evening.
To do in the area
The many limestone caves are a unique feature of the area: a naturally formed valley between the Condroz, the Ardennes and the Meuse Valley. In addition to visiting the Han Caves, which you will undoubtedly do, you can also pay a visit to the other caves. Han-sur-Lesse is an attractive village for a leisurely stroll. You will also find a small supermarket here for your grocery shopping.
