A camping holiday in Croatia is a real adventure. You can enjoy lively resorts and rocky bays dotted with small islands in hospitable Croatia. And all this by the deep blue sea. You can while away the time in idyllic small towns and on mountain peaks or marvel at the beautiful countryside. Croatia has something for everyone.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Croatian coast<\/h2>\n

Let\u2019s start at the beautiful Croatian coast which is where you will find most of the campsites. Lovely villages and towns come into view one after the other and you can discover Croatia\u2019s rich history everywhere. The wonderful weather ensures that life in Croatia mostly takes place outdoors. This makes it lovely to stroll along the narrow alleyways and admire the beautiful buildings.<\/p>\n

The town of Pula and the beautiful resort of Pore\u010d are on the coast. These towns are well worth visiting. There are plenty of Roman remains to be found in the 3000 year old town of Pula. The gem is the Pula amphitheatre where concerts and other events are organised regularly (tip: pay a visit here if at all possible). Pore\u010d is a sun-drenched resort which also has Roman origins. You can walk along Roman streets in the old town and stroll past numerous palaces and Venetian buildings. There\u2019s also plenty to see around Pore\u010d. You can enjoy a boat trip along the rocky coast or spend an active day at the Aquacolors Pore\u010d water park<\/a> (including thirteen different water slides).<\/p>\n

Discover the interior and the countryside<\/h2>\n

The capital Zagreb is located further inland. This city has been inhabited since prehistoric times and there\u2019s plenty to do, especially on the Trsg Ban Jela\u010di\u0107 square (stalls, music and folklore). If you want wonderful views across the whole town, take the little old train that takes you up a steep hill to a beautiful lookout point. The lovely island of Krk is also well worth visiting. This island offers several picturesque villages where tourists rarely go. The fortified town of Krk is the place for authentic souvenirs and a vibrant nightlife (a drink in Bar Volsonis, for example). The clear water around this island makes it a perfect place for snorkelling or diving.<\/p>\n

In addition to lovely historic towns, Croatia has plenty of countryside to discover. In the Krka National Park<\/a> (which is not located on the island of Krk but further south in Croatia) you can admire beautiful waterfalls which cascade down more than 200 metres. There are also sixteen crystal clear lakes in the terraced Plitvice National Park<\/a> which are certainly worth visiting, and many walking routes will take you through heavenly, fairy-tale countryside<\/p>\n
