The Netherlands \u2013 colourful tulip fields in South Holland<\/h2>\n
Where better to enjoy the first warm rays of sunshine that amidst the flowers? The tulip season in the Netherlands runs from the end of March to the end of May \u2013 perfect for an Easter camping trip.<\/p>\n
Park Keukenhof<\/a> in South Holland<\/a> opens its doors on 24 March, and is home to more than 800 different varieties of tulip. There are also countless flower displays and exhibitions. You can pre-book tickets online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Take your bicycle along and use the springlike backdrop of South Holland to embark on a bicycle tour of the province\u2019s tulip fields. You can also hire a bicycle and discover the region. Remember to plan in some time for a city trip to Leiden and The Hague. Both cities are easily accessible from the campsite, and boast numerous sights and lively city centres.<\/p>\n

A unique event in the Sauerland<\/h2>\n
The Sauerland<\/a> in North Rhine-Westphalia lures visitors not only with its beautiful countryside and picturesque towns, but with its special Easter celebrations.<\/p>\n
The town of Attendorn<\/a> hosts what is perhaps Germany\u2019s most interesting Easter celebration<\/a>. On Easter Sunday, the four Easter crosses, which stand on the hills above the city, are lit with the flame from the Easter candle. Children wave burning torches and accompany the spectacle. This is then followed by four Easter processions, which make their way from the hills down to the parish church.<\/p>\n

One of Germany\u2019s most spectacular Easter celebrations takes place in Attendorn.<\/p><\/div>\n
Interested in spending your Easter holidays hiking? The Sauerland couldn\u2019t be a better place to do it. The Rothaarsteig<\/a> hiking trail takes you through the Sauerland countryside and some of the area\u2019s most beautiful spots, including dense forests, wide valleys and fabulous vistas. Also worth a visit is the Bruchhauser Steine<\/a> nature reserve. One of the four impressive crags is accessible to visitors, and from the top you can see as far as M\u00fcnsterland.<\/p>\n

France \u2013 a feast in Alsace<\/h2>\n
There is no shortage of spring celebrations in Alsace<\/a>! From the 8th of April till the first of May, Colmar will play host to the F\u00eate le Printemps<\/a> spring festival, where you can enjoy spring and Easter markets as well as concerts and exhibitions throughout the Easter holiday period. It\u2019s an outstanding opportunity to sample regional products like the Alsace Easter cake known as Lamala, and all against the town\u2019s picturesque backdrop, decorated in colour for the event.<\/p>\n

A camping holiday at Whitsun is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the Alsace region\u2019s warm weather. Hike along the Alsace Wine Route<\/a>, where you\u2019ll have a choice of 50 hiking trails.\u00a0 These take you through the region\u2019s vineyards, past historical castles and through charming villages and towns including Riquewihr and Eguisheim. Sample familiar wines such as Pinot Blanc, Riesling or Sylvaner at one of the many wine cellars or wineries, which will be more than happy to welcome you. Plus, you can try out an authentic Alsace Flammkuchen and some tasty Munster cheese.<\/p>\n
