How to get there<\/h3>\n
There are a few hiking trails to choose from, ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 hours. The beach lies at the end of a narrow 2.5\u202fkm valley, about 700 metres deep. As you walk, the valley narrows and eventually feels more like a gorge. You can start the hike from Cassis or from the Col de la Gardiole. The beach is also accessible by boat.
\nA calanque is a steep, rocky inlet \u2014 and the walk is well worth it, as it takes you along coastal paths with panoramic views. It\u2019s a challenging hike due to the steep, rocky terrain, so good footwear is essential.<\/p>\n
I recommend wearing sturdy hiking shoes, and bringing your swimwear, plenty of water, and perhaps a picnic. Since it\u2019s a pebble beach, water shoes are a good idea.<\/p>\n

With no official beach facilities, even during peak season it remains wonderfully quiet. The beach features a mix of sand, pebbles and rocks. Don\u2019t forget your water shoes and snorkelling gear \u2013 the water here is exceptionally clear! You might even spot a sea urchin, fish or an octopus. You can park at the nearby Paulilles beach, from where it\u2019s about a 10 to 15-minute walk to Plage del Forat.<\/p>\n
