Prima camping met aardige beheerders. Ze helpen je op weg naar Praag met het beschikbaar stellen van tickets voor het OV. Al met al een prettige camping!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pension Camp Prager, and would definitely choose to stay here again, if visiting Prague.
On arriving at the site, it appeared to be someone\'s back garden in a residential area, but it had space for about 20 units. The Pitches were grassed, and there were fruit trees, including cooking apples and ornamental plums all around. Electric hookup points were provided, as were outside washing up sinks with hot and cold water. The site was completely enclosed by walls and a gate that was kept locked at night, so security was very good. The owners could often be seen wandering across the site checking that everything was in order.
There were separate rooms for male and female facilities, each having two showers, two wash basins, and two cubicles. Hot water and showers were free and unlimited. The water in the shower did tend to alternate between hot and cold, depending on whether anyone was using the hot water elsewhere, but they were kept clean, as were the toilet facilities. Paper was provided in the cubicles, and both the showers and cubicles had hooks for hanging up washbags etc.
Wifi was both free and had a good signal.
The staff/owners were very friendly and extremely helpful. They spent a great deal of time explaining how to visit Prague, and imparting other useful information. They accepted both euros and crowns as payment, although, understandably, not plastic. They were happy to be paid at the end of the stay, and also added public transport tickets to the \"tab\" to be paid on departure.
A 90 minute pass for the buses and trams can be purchased from the campsite at 32 Crowns, half price for children under 15. The bus leaves from the end of the road, and 2 stops (or 3 minutes) later you are at the Metro station Opatov, where Line C takes you to the \"Muzeum\" stop near Wenceslas Square in 9 stops (17 minutes). On boarding the bus, you need to insert your ticket in the yellow machine to be stamped with the date and time. Your 90 minutes starts from this point. You need to catch the Metro in the direction of Letnany. When returning, you need to stamp your ticket at the entrance to the platform and catch a Line C Metro in the direction of Háje. The relevant buses taking you back to the campsite are 165, 326, 327 or 385. Ensure that you press the \"Stop\" button on the bus to warn the driver in advance that you wish to get off.
A corner shop, just a few metres down the road was open between 06:00 and 20:00 selling all the items that you would need, although not big. It appeared to be a family run store, and one of the younger members was very friendly, but an older member followed us around and watched us like a hawk as we walked around the aisles, which was very off-putting. She did, however, smile when we left.
The games room was large and included a fridge, microwave, and hot drink making facilities, as well as tables and chairs to sit at, a ping pong table and fussball.
Pleasant, quiet site in an enlarged back yard with friendly owners, no marked pitches so park where you can fit. The sanitation block is clean and basic but given the sites nearness to the centre of Prague, good value for money with free WiFi. There\'s a small mini-market virtually next door and a Lidl fairly close plus a very good Pizzeria within walking distance. This is all about Prague which will take two days at least to visit properly.
We spent three nights here and found it to be a very good base for visiting Prague.
This small campsite is essentially the owner's back-yard. The site is walled and the entrance gate is locked from 10.00pm so it is very secure. Being a small site, it is quiet. There is a games' room with table-tennis and table football but the room closes at 10.00pm to maintain the night-time quiet.
The camping plots are not individually marked but assigned spaces are generous/spacious. Electrical hook-ups are also available. The bathroom block only has two male showers and two male toilets, but this is ample for the small site. The female side is of an equal size. The dish-washing sinks are located outside, in the garden, which is fine (unless it is raining).
Whilst located in the suburb of V-Ladech, public transportation gets you into Prague easily and tickets can be purchased at the campsite. Buses stop at the end of the street and the Opatov Metro train station is only two bus-stops away. The Metro train takes about 17 minutes to reach the 'Muzeum' stop, next to Wenceslas Square. We left the vehicle at the campsite and used the Metro to get into the city for carefree sightseeing. Except when we drove to Kutna Hora to see the Church of Bones (about an hours drive away).
I won't hesitate to book here for any future visit to Prague.
Stayed here for four nights, two in a tent and 2 in large motorhome - excellent, friendly, quiet and peaceful campsite within v easy reach of Prague centre. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming and sell tickets for the metro/bus/tram. 2 stops on the bus take you to the metro line c at Opotov, from there only 9 stops (10 mins) to the centre. The facilities are basic and clean with great free WiFi. Dont expect a large campsite: this is essentially the family's garden! Shop on the corner sells all essentials and pizzeria 500m walk away. Warning: access is tight for bigger camping cars, but possible. Would highly recommend.
