This well kept DCU site is NOT part of the ASCI discount scheme, you will pay full site rates. The pitches for motorhomes are sloped and uneven. The shower/toilet facilites are first class and conveniently near to the motorhome pitches. The block also has a kitchen with microwaves and gas powered hobs complete with extractor fans for meal preparation and cooking. The bus stop to Copenhagen is near to the camp\'s entrance, whereas you will have to walk about a mile to get to the station for Copenhagen central. There is an Aldi close by plus a Shell station selling fresh bread and pastries.
We stayed here for 3 days and used it for a base to see Copenhagen instead of using the city camp (we have a Motorhome) and I must say we were really glad we did. The facilities were 1st class and spotlessly clean as you would expect from the DCU. The staff were really informed and helpful, pitch\'s for motorhomes were hard standings with grass to relax on, a really nice place.
In an aussie in a camper van, if you are visiting Copenhagen in a camper there are not many options. It was a good park clean and tidy but it\'s expensive compared to other country\'s. Denmark in general is expensive. It was about a 1 k to the metro and about 30 minutes to the city centre but I found it ok to get to town. I did not rate Copenhagen compared to other European city\'s.
The site has everything one needs and is close enough for a short walk to the railway station to get to the centre of Copenhagen. It is a little expensive but then this is a capital city. Staff are very helpful in giving directions and where to go etc. The facilities block included a large kitchen and common room with TV for all those needing a TV or football fix.
A convenient site for Copenhagen within easy walking distance to the station. The staff were helpful and efficient and the site well kept but very large. Pitches for motorhomes were in a corner behind some buildings, all on hard standing with an old converted bus being used as accommodation within the same area. This was not a pleasant view and spoiled the pitch which was not in a very good place anyway.
Very good site for easy access to Copenhagen. As we were there in April, and ground had been very wet, only available area for touring caravans was in the area usually used by motorhomes. As a result we were a little bit tight for space with our twin axle unit.
Despite my average ratings, Absalon is a very good place to stay. We were here in November when outdoor facililties are less important, but the new service house is excellent, and pitches for winter season ok. We brought bikes and were riding easily to downtown and other visitor spots. An option is the S-train, with a stop 10 minutes walk from camping. A Kvickly supermarket and bakery is close to train station as well. The camping is not cheap, but still reasonable. Showers included, but extra for electricity. WiFi expensive and coverage quite bad.
A very large site with only one central facilities block, although a second one is being built near the gate. Pitches out to the corners of the site are therefore a long way from the toilet block.
Water near each pitching area but waste-water emptying and toilet emptying only at the service block.
Grass pitches waterlogged when wet.
WiFi expensive. Electricity metered and expensive.
Long lunch-time closing, so do not arrive between 12 and 2.
Convenient for the city, but a fairly long walk to the station.
Very good site for visit to Kobenhavn. Easy to find, and easy access to city centre from near site. Suspect it could be very crowded during main seson, but almost empty at time of visit. Mixture of grass and hard-standing pitches.
