Municipal Campsite Molsheim in the Alsace is exactly what you would expect from a campsite in this border region (France-Germany). Enjoy the timbered buildings and the wine landscape, the beautiful broad-leaved trees on the campsite and the municipal swimming pool on the other side of the road.
Timbered houses and broad-leaved trees
It's another two kilometres to the campsite from the motorway. You will drive through the town of Molsheim before reaching the campsite. The campsite is beautifully situated opposite the town's swimming complex with linden trees and red beeches. The reception is based in a timbered house where the manager, Laurent, or his assistant, Vanessa, bids you a warm welcome. You can find tourist information here and you can collect your previously ordered fresh bread.
Spacious shaded pitches
On your way to your pitch, you will drive over a park-like terrain covered with beautiful trees. The pitches are very spacious and are shaded by the broad-leaved trees. The campers - both families and couples and sometimes groups - have various nationalities.
Across from the entrance lies the municipal swimming pool with several pools, a patio and large lawns where you can sunbathe, as well as a bar, a restaurant and an ice cream seller. The swimming pool is freely accessible for camping guests.
The best place to shop is at the Super-U, a large department store. You will also find many restaurants in town (within walking distance). The sanitary facilities are, just like the reception, located in a large timbered building.
Wine route with wine tasting
Unique is the 'La Route des Vins d'Alsace', a wine route which passes lovely villages with timbered houses and their characteristic flower decorations. As part of the route, you can do a wine tasting at one of the local wine producers.

Good 2 star site, can choose you own pitch, they are not well marked so can be a bit haphazard. The pitches are grass and level, good toilet wash block facilities, large showers, toilet paper etc. Easy access and OK for large units, very close to the town, a super U out and turn left, dog walk area out and turn left along the path, very close to train station to go exploring.
The pitches are spacious and the site is very well located for the town, a supermarket and the railway station from where you can visit Strasbourg. Facilities are good and value for money is excellent.
Very dry pitches. Right by a road so it may get noisy at night. Very cozy. Small playground but good enough to keep kids entertained. One can order fresh bread and so at reception. Pool is outside the campsite but right across the road. Beware!!! Men must wear speedos in order to be allowed to swim!! No swimming shorts! Very nice and great value!
Molsheim is well worth a visit and a good base for visit Strasbourg. We took the car into Strasbourg and found the car parking very reasonable.
Staff very helpful and facilities clean, if a little dated.
Large HyperU in walking distance.
We were really impressed with this campsite. When we arrived the reception was closed. One of the staff came across and let us in to find a pitch. The pitches are a good size, if you can avoid some of the low trees. The town is only a few minutes walk and really lovely. There is a Super U within 5 minutes walk and a Lidle just the other side of the station. We got the train into Strasgourg. What a fantastic city to visit! The staff were all great and you could order baguettes for the morning. The wifi was good value, if a little slow. The washing up facilities are excellent as are the laundry and showering facilities. All in all excellent value for money, perfect for motorhomers with every thing close and excellent transport links.
Couple in a motorhome with dog. First time on site. Great location short walk to large Super U. 10 mins walk to Le Gare. Trains to Strasbourg every 20 mins, cost 8€ return and takes 15 mins. Well worth visiting. Cycle path connecting local villages close by, free heated lido across road. Town is short walk. Typical municipal site facilities. Lovely salon de te in next village Avolsheim for breakfast or breads/cakes. Would definitely return.
This is a good campsite and a convenient place to stop on the journey from France to Italy. WiFi is available. Bread is available if ordered the night before. Good value for money.
