The rurally situated camping site Maissonneuve is situated near St.Jory-de-Chalais in the Dordogne-Vert. The friendly owners will warmly welcome you on their well-maintained camping site with its tranquil atmosphere. The camping guests are from various countries with the common interest of camping in peace and quiet. There are many castles, caves and beautiful towns in the area.
Spacious camping in the shade
The 46 lovely, demarcated camping pitches are relatively large and shaded by trees, but there are also sunny camping pitches. A pitch measures 100 m2 on average and has access to electricity. Some pitches have their own water tap. You can also spend the night in beautifully furnished chalets or in a mobile home.
At the French restaurant Au Château d’Eau, named after the nearby water tower, frequent use is made of regional products. You can therefore be assured of traditional, French dishes. You can enjoy your meal in the tastefully renovated 19th century barn or outside on the terrace. In high season you can join other camping guests for paella or for a barbecue.
Sport and games
There is ample space on the camping site to play and exercise (table tennis, tennis, jeu-de-boule). You can enjoy a swim in the lovely swimming pool (14 x 7 m). There is also a private sauna. There is some playground equipment for children, but they can also enjoy themselves in the recreation centre. For a fee you can go pony riding and horse riding in the area. The Touroulet river, where you can follow a nature trail, runs approximately half a km from the camping. Camping guests are allowed to use the private fish pond.

This was our second visit to this site. " years ago we expected to stay a couple of days and ended up staying 9. This time we used it as a break in our travel. The facilities are very good with clean toilet/shower block and superb home cooked food served in the restaurant, its good value too which was one of the attractions of revisting this site. Its very peaceful and there are nice walks from the site. Its run by a british family who are very very welcoming
Stayed middle of June the most peaceful and relaxing site ever with such lovely sunshine we were glad of the large shady pitch we looked out on to the hay field and walnut woods had a lovely dinner excellent value on the terrace over looking the beautiful fishing lake. My husband caught numerous Carp all fit and a good size.
The owners could not do any more to make you feel welcome. my 2 dogs were in doggy heaven running in the shady woods and dipping the paws in the stream just cannot decide what month to come back it will be very soon for sure.
We stayed here in september, the weather was perfect ..When we arrived we could choose our own pitch, and book in that evening. All the facilities are of a very high standard and are kept very clean and tidy. The food in the restaurant was not only to a superb standard and well presented, but also at a very good value. The owners made us very welcome, and the atmosphere at the bar and the rest of the site was very relaxed. This was our 1st visit to the area, but it won't be our last. The village has a well stocked store,as well as super bread.
We can only say we would highly recommend this campsite to all.
