Camping L’Arbre d’Or is situated amidst the forests of the Landes region between Biscarosse and Mimizan at a few km distance from the Atlantic Ocean. At a distance of 500 m you can find the lovely town centre of Parentis-en-Borne with its restaurants and shops. Most of the camping pitches on grass are shaded by large numbers of trees, but there are also some sunny pitches. On a separate section of the camping site are wooden chalets and luxury mobile homes. For water fun there are two heated swimming pools with toddler pool and jacuzzi.
Lots of comfort and facilities
L’Arbre d’Or is a typical family camping site for people with young children. The atmosphere is amicable and the grounds are neatly laid out. The mobile homes are on spacious sites with the necessary privacy, have a covered veranda and air conditioning. Handy for families with little ones; some bedrooms have room for an extra cot.
There is a camping shop with fresh produce and a bar/restaurant where you can buy rolls, pizzas and take-away dishes. Naturally, there is also a swimming pool, a playground, a multifunctional sports field and a television lounge. The contemporary and recently renovated sanitary building is fitted with showers, toilets, separate childrens' toilets, a baby area and a laundry with tumble dryers.
The Biscarrosse-Parentis lake is only a 5-minute walk away. You can do all kinds of water sports on this recreational lake, such as windsurfing, waterskiing, (catamaran)sailing, fishing and hydrojetting. Also fun: a boat trip or renting a water bike. The water sports centre (Aqua Loisirs), where you can hire all kinds of equipment, is just a stone's throw away from the camping site as is the sailing school. If you bring your own boat, you can use the mooring ring in the marina free of charge.

Liked - Friendly staff, just a nice site. Have stayed before on one night stopover, and will use again.
Disliked - We stopped overnight early April, and the shower area is unheated, so a bit brisk, but this is a minor gripe, as the showers are clean, and the water hot.
Another campsite we have used a number of times going either north or south. Great walking and cycling with Biscarrosse Plage and possibly the best beach on the west coast a few miles away. Toilets and showers need updating but plenty of hot water.
Enjoyed 3 nights here. Large pitches with sun and shade. Nice rustic feel not in regimented lines. Very helpful staff with good English. Great location on the edge of a village with all facilities, supermarket, bakers etc. Pretty lake and near the coast. Excellent value.
second stay of the year at this extremely friendly campsite. all I can say is the staff are friendly, toilets clean, pitches are decent sized with a great location for visiting the nearby sites. all in all great campsite.
Good site close to both a freshwater lake and the wonderful west coast beaches. Pitches are flat but not that large. Toilet and showers are a bit dated and require refreshing.
We stayed at this site for 10 days in July and on the whole we enjoyed our stay, however there a few short comings for this site that people need to be aware of, firstly in the high season the disco music from the bar and restaurant starts at 0830 every evening and goes on until 1200 which is plainly audible all over the site, I take it that out of season this is not the case. also in July your swim in the two very nice pools will also be interrupted by by more zumba music every hour or so - Ok if you like zumba otherwise an unwanted intrusion. secondly you may well find your pitch some distance from electricity and water supply I suggest you have at least a 30M power cable.
thirdly the two very nice pools are too small in the high season and quickly become very crowded.
This site is very much at its best in the low season and I recommend it on that basis unless you like crowds and noise i would give it a miss in July and August.
Intended as an overnight stop enroute to Portugal, but stayed for 2, we are novice camping-caristes and so impressed we chose it for our overnight return stopover. Sanitation facilities were very clean, the pitches a good size and the site is an easy walk or cycle to the lake, village and Supermarket. One hour free wifi in the bar area was a bonus. We will definitely use this site again
We stayed here in low season (end of April) very few campers on. Staff are great and the site is lovely and peaceful. Only short trip into the village and a lake around the corner. Lovely site.
Lovely peaceful campsite out of season. Rarely more than 5/6 pitches being used. Some pitches a bit rustic but of a good size. Water was a longish trek from some pitches. Some pitches needed a French 2 pin plug others ok. Showers very good. Toilets okay. Pools were very good (indoors and outdoors. Great lake and beach just down the road (water sports). Shops and supermarket 1 km away. Brilliant cycle routes (flat) to other towns and lakes (Biscarosse about 50 minutes slow pedal). We were going to stay for 1 night but ended up staying for 5. Restaurant available for snacks/meals/bread and drink. Friendly owners. Liked this site.
