CosyCamp is an environmentally-friendly campsite, located near the village of Chamalières-sur-Loire in Haute-Loire on the banks of the Loire Sauvage. Come and live a glamping experience in a 4.5 hectare botanical garden where cars are not allowed. Large pitches, upscale atypical accommodation, a wellness area, outdoor swimming pools, swimming in the Loire, canoeing, games and bicycles available, and campfires. In short: everything you need for an exquisite holiday.

Forested area on the Loire

CosyCamp is in a stunning forested area, right on the Loire. You'll find one nature reserve after the other in the area. The campsite is in between three French pearls: the regional nature reserve Livradois-Forez, regional nature reserve of Pilat, and the Monts d'Ardèche nature reserve. The campsite grounds are all about nature too. They have been designed with an emphasis on the relationship between people and nature. Totally environmentally-friendly. You'll find botanical gardens here, with the most extensive flora, and all the buildings are made from untreated wood.

Environmentally-friendly glamping

All of the rentals are also designed with conservation in mind. Don't be afraid that you'll have to spend the night in a small wooden hut, though. CosyCamp has the look of a luxury campsite. With very special rentals, including treehouses, lodges and gypsy wagons, you can definitely consider this 'glamping'. The pitches are spacious: the smallest is no less than 100 m².

Fresh, local food

At CosyCamp, simple, local and environmentally-friendly food is served. In the organic kitchen, they make their hamburgers from cows from the Haute-Loire, and every day, there's a special on the menu from the region. You can also have breakfast in the communal dining room, and order picnic baskets with fresh local produce.

Liked - Beautiful location. Loved the river! Good sized pitches. Nice ambiance and all the extra touches on site, including the kids bikes. Enjoyed eating in the restaurant and the plat du jour.
Disliked - Noise in the evenings - this is not a quiet site. Little respect from groups of families to other campers. On one particular night we were still being disturbed at 01:30 in the morning despite politely asking them to be quiet at 23:30. Perhaps a noise curfew would help and to include no amplified music? Guests appeared to bringing powerful speakers.
The flies in the restaurant/reception were a nuisance and put us off eating inside.

Liked - Had a really enjoyable time. The kids made friends easily and then we never saw them until feeding time!! The facilities were great and the food at the bar was excellent.
Disliked - The amount of flies that were everywhere (although I appreciate this isn't the campsites fault.

Liked - Loved it a few years ago but not able to come due to Covid. Had planned reunion with all family and been really looking forward to return after excellent stay a few years prior.
Disliked - This year had to cancel but management not willing to carry our deposit forward to next year

Liked - first things, it was fun for my children. We loved playing in the river, and swimming; my son loved playing football in the evening in that informal international games that happen; my daughter loved reading in a hammock by the river.
More, though, I think there's a special atmosphere at this campsite. There's a freedom, which people don't exploit, but is there. The whole thing integrates with the landscape so well. When rain was forecast, Richard as owner came down to examine our pitch to see about whether it was likely to get washed away.
We loved the whole thing. Thank you!

Liked - Lovely place which puts the onus on the parents to make sure the kids are safe which means there’s fire pits and free canoes and paddle boards. Plus no traffic because cars park outside the main area - proper relaxing holiday and great to see kids of all nationalities playing together

Liked - Wonderful campsite! Feels like being on holiday with an extended group of family/friends. Large pitches, tons of free entertainments eg canoes, bikes, volleyball pitch. Gorgeous vibe.

Liked - Wonderful campsite, very nice owners, very good atmosphere, really nice field at the river side with out pitches, but for dining, drinking, playing, feels like being in a park, really special, great swimming pool with tremendous view and plenty of beds, good icecream, bikes/rackets/canos for sharing which is great and really special.
