The modest but very well maintained Camping de l’Ile Verte boasts a beautiful setting: on the bay of Mont Saint-Michel, some 30 km west of the famous tidal island. The camping site is quiet and modestly-sized and borders the friendly houses of Saint-Benoît-des-Ondes, a picturesque coastal town which is not only convenient for shopping, but also great to visit. The beach is a stone's throw away from the camping site.
Camping with children
The spacious pitches are all neatly maintained and separated by trimmed hedges. They are located on a fine grass surface. They all have a certain degree of privacy. The twenty-odd rental accommodation units are on a separate section. The chalets are modern in design (with small garden or veranda) and have a lovely kitchen. Your fellow campers are mostly young families. Hence there is a nice range of playground equipment for children.
The camping site has a medium-sized, heated swimming pool under a plexiglass tunnel cover. You can therefore also swim on a cool day. The spacious toddler pool, complete with fun slides, is brand new (2018). Lovers of the sea only have to walk a few hundred metres.
Enjoy eating oysters
The camping site has a basic eating establishment. Choose something nice from the small menu. The atmosphere is very amiable here, especially on the terrace! The mostly local specialities are tasty and very affordable. You will also find some nice restaurants in the village. Camping de l’Ile Verte does not have a shop, although fresh bread is available daily. In Cancale, at a distance of some 9 km, there is a large supermarket.

Well run site. Good pitches. Good (mixed) toilets / showers. Ideal for Cancale, St. Malo and Mont St Michel. Difficult approach for large units. Also some quite turns in the site
Superb site with very friendly owners. Toilet/shower facilties were excellent as was the covered swimming pool - such a lovely water temperature. The sea front is only a 10\' walk away where there is a bus stop, a full stocked Spar shop, Boulangerie, Post Office and fishmongers with their live wares swimming around on display for you!
Welcoming camp site - owners very helpful. Medium sized pitches in lovely area. Beautiful bird song at no extra charge! Toilet and shower facilities excellent. Would definitely visit again if in area.
Stayed on this site for a week. The young lady who runs the site is very friendly and helpfull, the pitches are lovely. You have a good choice between shade and sunny. New toilet facility is excellent; showers are very good if a little dated the site in general is well maintained and the staff are all very good. Its a short walk into St-Benoit which has a limited selection of bars/restaurants, but its only a short drive to St Malo which is a lovely place. We are a party of two seniors touring with a caravan.
We stayed for 5 nights. The weather was mixed, but O.K. for late May. A relaxed entry, allowing us to walk around and choose a pitch, before opening the gate at 2pm. Passable English spoken. Able to walk into the small town on the sea front. Off the main road, so very quiet. Small but very adaquate indoor warmed swimming pool. The town contains a bar, restaurant, spar, boulangerie and moules shops. Easy drive to Mont St Michel, Cancale and St Malo - all worthy of a visit. This campsite is ideally suited for these touristy locations. Recommended.
