Camping de la Porte d'Arroux is a quiet campsite in the Bourgogne, situated along a river. It is a very green campsite, giving you the feeling that you are camping in the middle of nature. The historical town of Autun, meanwhile, is just one kilometre away. Seniors and people looking for peace and quiet in particular will feel right at home at campsite Porte d'Arroux, both in the low and in the peak season. Do you fancy a quick bite to eat? Then visit the snack bar at the campsite.
Camping out in the open or with more privacy?
There is enough privacy available during your camping holiday at this campsite near Autun. Some of the pitches are separated by tall hedges. Do you prefer camping with a wide, open view? Then you can camp on the field, under the trees. And your faithful four-footed friend is also welcome on campsite Porte d'Arroux. If you would like to experience camping life but with slightly more luxury than in a tent or caravan, you can rent one of the luxury mobile homes on the campsite. These are suitable for four to six people.
Quiet campsite in the low and peak seasons
In July and August, children between the ages of 4 and 12 can really enjoy themselves at the Kids' Club, which organises one or two fun activities every week. There is also a playground with a slide, a table tennis table and a boules court. And, seeing as the campsite is situated by the river, you can also go canoeing here.
From the terrace of the on-site snack bar 'La Chaumière', you have a wonderful view of the river and 'Temple de Janus', a Roman structure.

This is a very nice well-laid out municipal site next to the river with very good dog walking nearby. The staff are extremely enthusiastic and helpful. Good sized pitches divided by high hedges. It is, however, quite a long (over half an hour) walk into town. Autun is very interesting with Roman, medieval and middle ages sites, including temples, an amphitheatre and original city walls. It is certainly worth a visit and the walk. Wifi is available but not free. Morning bread order available. We were only planning to stay one night, but stayed for two.
Lovely clean and calming site. Nice walk to river for our two dogs. And pleasant walk into the old city centre
