Conveniently located site on hillside east of Cluny. Adequate facilities (toilet, showers, laundry and dish washing). Toilets are elderly (holes/bowls = 4/3) but well maintained and supplied with paper, hand washing and drier. Site has a shallow east/west slope and pitches generally tree shaded but unbounded. Adequate electric (13A) and water/drainage points on access roadways but long leads may be required. Waste disposal and recycling facilities regularly emptied and cleaned. Short walk into town with information centre, restaurants, boutiques, etc and ruins of former abbey. Excellent Voie Verte (cycling, walking) on former railway track on east side of site (via gated entrance) with possibility of long level trips north towards Beaune and more challenging ones south (via Tunnel du Bois Clair) towards Macon. Possible noise disruption from frequent TGV traffic on line east of site though this lessens between 2300 and 0600hrs. Large supermarket (Intermarche) with fuel station to north of town and smaller one (ATAC) to south. Comments relevant for September 2014. More facilities (e.g. adjacent municipal swimming pool) are available earlier in season.

Nice site within walking distance of town; main toilet block heated and although showers dated were kept clean. Free use of municipal swimming pool adjacent. Site could also be used for Night halt / stop over.

First the good news. The site is only a 15 minutes walk from one of the nicest towns in France - Cluny. Well worth a visit if you're camping here or not. There are also some very nice places to visit in the area, so it's worth it to take the car out and discover the little towns round about.
Now, the camping. The toilets are a disgrace. What is it with France and toilet seats? In the gents it's porcelain only for the seats and some of the cubicles had those crouching toilet places that should have gone out with the French Revolution. So, bog standard toilet facilities.
The pitches were generally OK, but you can't choose, and we were given an not very good one which had little grass and with the rain everything got covered in mud.
The site is municipal and there are a lot of kids camping at the far end and they tend to play around and inside the toilet blocks at night.
And, finally, they have the French mainline high speed train running a 100 yards or so behind the campsite.

Very nice place, unfortunately located near railway line. Great pitches, shady, few minutes walk to the centre of Cluny, good place to make a trip to sourronding Burgundy villages, friendly staff, sanitary facilities could be better, but overall impression is very good.
