Camping de Bourges is located just north of the centre of France, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. Here you'll camp on the edge of the historic centre of Bourges, with its impressive cathedral as a crowd puller. Because of its central location, this city campsite is ideal for a stopover and/or city visit.

Spacious pitches

The campsite has an oval shape and is surrounded by trees, so you don't feel like camping on the outskirts of town. In the middle of the oval are very spacious pitches with a hard surface, ideal for (larger) camper van for example. Delimited by hedges. In the second 'ring' there are slightly smaller pitches. These are on grass and have a little more shade from the trees.

Entertainment nearby

The campsite is quite simple. Apart from a playground, there is little to do for children. There is also no entertainment program offered. Pleasant and quiet place to spend the night for a stop-over. In the vicinity, however, you will find plenty of opportunities to have fun. Next to the campsite is the river Auron, where you can go fishing. At less than 2 km this river flows into the recreational lake Du Val d'Auron, where you can take to the water on a surfboard or rowboat.

Hot shower

The sanitary facilities are simple, but a hot shower and a clean toilet are available. You can have a small bite to eat on the campsite, but for dining out Bourges is a better option.

Liked - A short walk to town 20 mins. Plenty of free parking close to town. The cathedral and town centre deserve a visit. Town train to take around. The aerobatics from the planes that can be seen from the campsite are amazing. The chicken and chips van that calls on site and the fuel station is 4 doors away. Boom
Disliked - Becareful when entering the site to follow the signs. There is a turning circle with traffic lights before you can enter the site at busy times. A great idea not really a complaint.

Liked - A good stop over site. I have used this site for many years.
Disliked - A bit disappointed that despite booking well in advance for a night stay with my caravan I was at first given a grass pitch towards the bottom in a tight spot rather than the usual central hard standing pitches. Thankfully the ladies in reception was able to find a new pitch for me in the centre area.

"Well cared for city-and overnight campsite. Campers have free access to the swimming pool. Marked pitches with hedges and partly with shade. 15 min walk from the city centre and the Lac d'Auron, where you can play tennis, surfing, horse riding and fishing. There is also an 18-hole golf course."
