A jewel of a site. We intended to use as an overnight stop en route, but stayed for a few days as we loved it so much. Owners & staff so friendly & helpful. The riverside walk is so tranquil, & all facilties 1st class. Look forward to staying again in 2013.
We had the mis-fortune of awful wet weather but, regardless, this campsite was most delightful. As others have said, the husband and wife team offered a most friendly welcome. We found them full of fun - both with a great sense of humour. Ours was just a 2 night stay and on the first night we had a very pleasant few drinks at the bar and a steak and chips meal - the steak cooked exactly to our preference. The toilets were a pleasure - clean and fresh with music in the background. The walk down to the River Loire was lovely despite the torrential rain. If only it had been warm & sunny!
This campsite lives up to all the good reports it has received. Friendly staff, excellent toilet block kept really clean and good size pitches kept very well. A longish, but easy walk into Bonneval, but well worth a visit. You can get a badge to use the large municipal indoor swimming pool alongside. Well worth a longer stay than the overnight we had. SO MUCH BETTER IN EVERY WAY THAN CHARTRES.
Gem of a site, lovely welcome, would like to go back and stay longer. Shady pitches under the tress, large pitches well set out, good variety of bird life.
We used this sight as an overnight stop on our way to St Omer and I am so pleased we picked it. The shower blocks are very clean with plenty of hot water. The pitch was very good with plenty of space. We had food in the restaurant which was both very good quality and good value for money, plus the WIFI is then free. The staff try very hard to speak English and are so friendly and appear to work very hard. Nothing was to much bother for them.
Agree with all the positive comments in the April 2010 review. Only thing I would say is that the river bordering the campsite is the Loir - not the bigger Loire. Said to the owners that they should really add the proximity of the river Loir to the ACSI book - wonderful place to walk the dog etc - ducks, water lilies, weeping willows. We were just passing through - wish we could have stayed longer. If people have a chance they should visit Chateaudun and its huge medieval castle belonging to Jean Dunois, companion of Joan of Arc.
Owner appears to fill every post. Works her cotton socks off to ensure you have excellent service. Meals in small restaurant excellent and good value. Quiet secluded site.
Not much to do in surrounding area apart from boat ride round town.
My son and I stayed 2 nights and found the place to be clean tidy and all amenities available . We would recommend it to anyone .. It\'s a quiet lovely site, river walk and owners were friendly fab people ..
What a little gem. So very friendly and welcoming, with so much to offer for a 3 star site. The site is clean, tidy and accessable to all units. Toilets are cleaned every day, the small blocks dotted around the site are so useful. A great treat was the walk to the riverside, very sheltered and the riverside walk is perfect, peaceful private and well mown.
A meal at the spotless restaurant is a treat to look forward to, well cooked and ample, served with a smile.
We can`t wait to return later in the year.
Very pleasant site with large spacious pitches. Welcome on arrival was very good. Would stay again in the future.
