The man on reception was really helpful , spoke good English and gave us loads of info about the area.
The site is by the river...you can pitch right beside it if you want to.
It is a 20 minute walk into town...the main point of interest is the chateau which is impressive....guided tours are available.
The facilities are are looking a bit tired but were clean and everything worked...we understand that anew block is being installed in April 2018.
Some of the pitches are demarcated...there is plenty of space and it was very peaceful.

This is a peaceful site in a lovely setting. Chateaudun is within walking distance and while, in my view, not a particularly interesting city...perhaps we were spoilt by Chinon....still worth a visit. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Bread and croissants delivered if wanted and ordered. Showers are simple but actually my preferred format. A shower, a button to push, and a preset temperature. Always clean. toilets likewise. Disabled persons toilet available. Toilets modern though seatless! A few mediieval ones also but I suspect rarely used! We came to stay two nights, stayed five. Only problem was local boys swimming in the river/ canal by the lovely mill who seemed oblivious to the disturbance they were creating and incapable of enjoying themselves quietly. Fortunately they only stayed for an hour or two and we were left with the sound of the water in the old mill race and some noisy ducks. Lovely site. Recommend unreservedly.

Great find. We were in transit but could have stayed longer. Friendly helpful staff. Clean facilities. Beautiful location on banks of the Loire and old mill. Easy walk to very attractive town with a chateau. Inexpensive. Recommend.

What a super place! Peace, the river and tranquility. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Only two other campers here. Lovely bicycling along the river bank, we came for an overnight stop but have stayed three days!

A well run site. The hedge pitches very large plus a field with marked pitches by the side of the Loire. Castledun Chateau well worth a visit and walkerable to. Nice small town with a market on Thursdays. Very relaxing to sit by the side of the river and watch the wild life.

Travelling party: Couple

Very acceptable site especially out of peak times. Pitches are large, mostly shaded and hedged for privacy. Facilities clean and adequate if dated. Very very reasonably priced. Management very friendly and helpful. Ideal for stop over or shorter stays, but as mentioned July/August are busy.....
