Well located campsite, right near to the Azay-Le -Roseau chateau, right next to a small river. Restaurants and bars close by.
Showers are ok, clean, but you have to keep the shower button pressed all the time and it can be hit and miss if you get hot water. Toilets are somewhat to be desired.
Unfortunately even though it says on the ACSI site that they accept CC, they do not.

Excellent location for Château and cycling.
Helpful staff, well organised site. Good variety and choice of pitches. Felt a very secure, quiet site.

This is a spacious site with good size pitches. In June when we stayed it was less than half full and maybe if it were full the toilet and shower facilities might struggle, as it was they were fine. Not too unusual for France the toilets had no seats or paper, you get used to it. Bread can be ordered at the site reception if the short walk into town is too much early in the morning. There’s no pool and limited facilities for children, who might find the chateau boring!
The site is only a 2 minute walk to the Chateau and the charming small town of Azay le Rideau which has plenty of restaurants, bars, boulangeries and wine shops. More mundane groceries can be had at the Lidl which is a bit of an uphill walk to the edge of town. It’s also only half an hour’s drive into Tours, where the old town centre is worth a visit.

Really pretty and peaceful site located in a great little town with its own chateau. Staff were really friendly and helpful and friendly, would thoroughly recommend.

A really nice site that we found by accident. The staff were helpful, the toilet blocks immaculate. The site was nicely relaxed. probably not too good for young children due to river running through, but a lovely feature none the less. would happily return.
They were in the CC last year but not this. Wish they were as they deserve a lot of business.

We've been visiting Azay since 1971 when students. We camped, graduated to hotels and also stayed at the local holiday comlex. Now we're retired and with a new caravan returned to the site for the first time in almost thirty years, bringing two other experienced caravan couples with us.
Stayed for two weeks in late June/early July and as much as we love Azay we feel the site is badly in need of urgent updating and regular rigorous maintenance. It's in an absolutely superb position and Les Grottes restaurant near the entrance is brilliant!
The pitches had not been cut for ages and the long grass was a 'paradise' for mozzies! The three sanitary blocks, although clean, are not enough for a site of this size when busy. Only one chemical disposal point! Showers only warm and the toilets were sans seats or paper.
The mature trees created many completely shaded pitches and need cutting back. Satellite almost impossible. With a little t.l.c this could again be a wonderful site. Come on Azay!
