Camping Parc de Fierbois is a family campsite on a recreational lake, just south of the Loire Valley in the Indre-et-Loire department. Adventure trail, tree houses and water park: here you'll find everything you need to give children a fantastic holiday. Enjoy a comfort pitch with private sanitary facilities, a game of pool in the bar and dive into one of the swimming pools.

The A10 takes you via Tours through the Loire Valley, where you cross the Indre just under Tours. At Sorigny's, you trade the A10 for the D910. Then drive south for another 15 minutes. The last part you drive on a narrow road through a forest. When you pass this road the gate of Camping Parc de Fierbois appears. The receptionists speak English.

Camping

You can choose a comfort pitch, situated on the shady edge of the forest or a spacious touring pitch on lawns with a more open character. Some pitches have private sanitary facilities, for extra luxury. Part of the communal sanitary facilities will be renewed in 2018.

Entertainment for the whole family

In addition to chalets, mobile homes and gîtes, you can also rent a tree house. Also adventurous for children is the climbing course at the lake. The lake itself offers all possibilities for anglers and water sports enthusiasts. The children can have even more water fun in the water park on the campsite. Deep and shallow pools run into each other here. The bar at the water park has a spacious outdoor café and there is often live music. The bar has a games hall with a.o. pool tables. There is also a separate restaurant and an extensive supermarket on the campsite.

Liked - The individual staff were friendly and tried their best.
Disliked - The park has an obvious lack of management. Individual staff are helpful but there is a lack of oversight to ensure things are done properly. Reception enquiries not followed up, constant lost or misplaced orders in the snack bar, insufficient space at the childrens club, missing items in the accommodation etc..

Liked - Lovely setting, great swimming pools, lots to do for the kids, the treehouse was so much fun - hauling our breakfast basket up on the rope was brilliant!
Disliked - It was impossible to get food on site for my family on a Saturday evening at 8pm in August - despite the restaurant and take aways being advertised as open until 9.30pm. We were told the restaurant was full and the takeaways were closed because they were too busy. The on-site shop was shut. The only nearby restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay.
Our treehouse had no cooking facilities.

We had two kids aged 2 and 5 and we were completely stuck. No-one cared a bit to help.

The accommodation wasn’t cheap and food should be available when advertised - especially for kids.

Liked - The toilet and shower unit on our plot. Pool landscaping was nice as was the bar area. Kids loved the water slides. On site fishing lake was good too.
Disliked - Pitch was on a slope, very uneven and with broken glass on it.

Pool was cloudy and not particularly clean. This would explain why so much chlorine in the water.

Life guards didn’t do much to police the rules of the pool. All sun loungers were taken by 11:00, mostly by towels with no bathers to be seen!

Shop was poorly stocked and closed for a lot of the day.

No gas bottles for sale on site.

Picture on website were somewhat misleading - we expected a much bigger, better maintained site.

Finally, the restaurant was fine for dinner but food could and service be improved.

Disliked - The sites was not as tidy and other Castels sites we have visited and I feel the cleanliness and general appearance could be improved. Attention to detail lacking.

Liked - We loved the location of the park and enjoyed a walk to the village of Ste Catherine de Fierbois most days. The weather was lovely nearly all of the time with the odd bit of thunder here and there - not an issue as it cleared the air

Staff were very friendly and very helpful
Disliked - Lack of activities in the first week of our stay

There was no welcome pack this year and no shower gels or shampoos - not a huge issue but it would have been nice to have them

We had to book the chalet for 21 nights even though we were only staying 19 nights - this was frustrating as we noticed people checking in and out every day of the week clearly not staying a full week or 14 days or 21 days or whatever

The restaurant was disappointing

We had stayed in this campsite before and were really looking forward to our holiday this year but we were a little bit disappointed
