In a wooded area, a stone's throw away from the famous castles of the Loire you will find Camping Les Saules, a place of peace, relaxation and space. You will find the campsite in the vicinity of Cheverny in the department Loir-et-Cher. This area offers you a wide range of options: active walking and cycling, leisurely enjoying culture and nature. You imagine yourself in the green garden of France.

Quiet and space

Almost all the camping pitches have ample shade so that it is pleasant even in the height of summer. Here and there there is a pitch that goes without, however. Have you brought your tent? If so, you can use a field, fitting in nicely with the rest of the grounds, with like-minded fellow campers. The entire campsite has been attractively laid out with easy to reach pitches. Rental accommodation comprises chalets (from 24 to 36 m2), bungalow tents and sporty tents. In short: something for everyone.

Activities

The campsite mainly caters for people looking for peace, nature and culture. As a result, teenagers may not feel in their element here. There are covered and heated swimming pools with separate toddler pools. Near the reception there are several sports options and you can also rent a bicycle (with handy route descriptions).

Shop/restaurant

Similar to the reception, the shop and restaurant building also has a Spanish appearance. The restaurant, just like a Spanish bodega in France, has a fairly extensive menu and reasonably priced daily menus. The shop stocks everything you need and has fresh bread every morning.

Liked - Friendliness of the owners, facilities for children, the size of the pitches and the location with easy access to fantastic cycle routes.

Liked - the site was not too big but large enough to create good atmosphere with children obviously enjoying themselves. it is very well sited for visiting the attractions of the area.
Disliked - certain groups of grown ups (probably having taken too much alcohol) making loud noise well after 22.00 and not keeping quiet after being politely asked. Perhaps a site warden walking around after 22.00 would calm things for everyone

Liked - Heel groen, kindvriendelijke camping. De " zwembaden waar 1 van overdekt waren heel leuk, en het was er niet te druk.Veel gezinnen met kinderen op de camping maar om 22u was het stil. Goede voorzieningen voor mensen met een beperking ( toiletten, lift aan zwembad,...) Eco vriendelijk sanitair gebouw is super! Alles wat je nodig hebt en heel proper. Ze hebben zelf een deeltje speciaal aangepast voor de kinderen in het gebouw. Afhaalservice was oke qua prijs/kwaliteit. Heel lekkere pizza camenbert!
Disliked - Wij hadden de indruk dat ze met jobstudenten werken en die zijn niet altijd allemaal even beleefd. 1 van die jongeren kwam ons vertellen dat wij al weg hadden moeten zijn want dat onze plek voor iemand anders was ook al hadden we nog 1 nacht te gaan. Bleek achteraf een vergissing maar geeft je geen fijn gevoel.

Liked - The site had a lovely relaxed feel where we immediately felt comfortable and at home. The toilet/shower blocks were fairly new & ALWAYS clean with plenty of toilet roll & soap. There was even a separate children’s area with 3 or 4 toilets & wash cubicles. They all had hand dryers too. There were 3 pools, all clean and great for the kids. The owners/staff were always so friendly & happy to help. We really loved this site & were sad to leave. We left to go to a site on Ile de Re for which we paid a lot more money & the pitches, staff & shower/toilet facilities were not half as good as Les Saules

Pitch had sufficient place for the large Camper, pitches nicly seperated
Sanitary facilities were is very godd condition - the best during our 2 weeks trip over several camping sites
