A beautiful campsite owned by a Dutch couple for the past 20 years. (Before that it had been a municipal site.) The Dutch owner told us with much (deserved) pride the improvements that he had made ~ including present renovation of the sanitary facilities. We noticed that pitches varied in size but took a good sized one reserved for those with Blue Badge mobility problems. We had put our Blue Badge in the van window ~ the owner noticed it, came and gave us the key to the disability facilities, and was enthusiastic to show us the improvements he had made and was making. Free Wifi but the connectivity was unreliable. We stayed only one night but would happily have stayed for a few days longer.

This site could be a real gem. It’s position is superb for those travelling up and down the A26, it sits within a nice little town with all services and the setting, on a small island in the river is extremely pretty. The owner is welcoming and helpful and speaks good English.
However..... pitches, with one or two exceptions, are very small and you can struggle to fit a caravan and car on. The facilities are spotless but (on 1st July) limited with only 3 toilets for 38 occupied pitches ( yes I counted them!) for some reason the other half of the toilet/shower block was locked off. As others have said the showers have nowhere to hang a towel or clothes so best to wear the minimum. There is no bread service available in the mornings.
The site does not take the Acsi discount card and overpriced for what it offers

Very small pitches, only three WC’s open at end of June, very strange shore arrangement with pull chain, friendly helpful owner but over priced and poor value for money
