Champagne-Ardennes is a rural region in Northern France with a large number of small farming villages and vast fields. Camping La Croix Badeau is situated on the outskirts of Soulaines-Dhuys, a village intersected by the Laine River. There are several bridges over the river as well as beautiful half-timbered houses on the water. The region has several beautiful nature reserves around large lakes. In the vicinity of those are all kinds of lovely sights and museums.
Quiet, neat and green
La Croix Badeau is a small, very quiet and neat camping site. The grounds are remarkably green. There are bushes, trees and flowers everywhere. The pitches, demarcated by hedges, are well maintained. There are special caravan and camper van pitches with a surface of stone chippings and adjacent a stretch of lawn as seating area. There are several types of rental accommodation. The sanitary facilities are adequate and kept clean and tidy.
Swimming pool with terrace
The camping site is visited by seekers of peace and families with children. There is a small outdoor swimming pool to cool off on hot days. Around the pool is a tiled terrace with tables and sun umbrellas. The fencing offers protection from the wind. There is a playground for children next to the camping site.
In high season you can get a bite to eat from the snack bar on the camping site. You can enjoy your snack and drinks at leisure on the modest terrace. You can order bread on the camping site. In the village is a shop for basic necessities within walking distance from the camping site.

Liked - The owner was extremely helpful, and catered for our every need. Excellent service to campers.
Disliked - Sometimes there was wee on the toilet seats - maybe adults should be encouraged not to let their children go to the toilet by themselves unless above a certain age?
A great little site with friendly owners in the heart of the French countryside in the outskirts of a small village. Still plenty of things to do or places to visit. Supermarkets are approx 12km away and are a pleasant drive. Toilets are very clean and I understand they are planning to refurbished them in 2014. Overall ideal for short or longer stays.
