Camping du Buisson is located in the park of a former castle in Louvemont, just east of the Lac du Der. This small-scale campsite is split in two by a small river. The touring pitches are situated directly on the water's edge or on an elevated part overlooking the rest of the campsite.

Camping at the waterfront

The campsite is situated in the former garden of the castle. A small river divides the site in two. Especially the spaciousness and the quietness of the campsite are striking. About fifty touring pitches are spread over the eight-hectare site. If you like camping by the water, you can choose from many pitches. You can also camp on a higher part, where the pitches offer a beautiful view over the campsite. Three luxury lodge tents and a few furnished chalets complete the range of camping options.

Heated swimming pool

In the centre of the campsite, on a sunny spot, is the swimming pool. Although it is fairly small, young and old can swim here. And even when it's colder outside, you're welcome. The water is heated. Around it is a large paved sun terrace, where you sunbathe on one of the sun loungers.

New climbing course

In 2019, a climbing course has been created in the forest area directly adjacent to the campsite. Here the smaller adventurers can indulge themselves on the lower course, while the real climbers are on the ladders and platforms high up in the trees. A fun adventure for younger children and the slightly more experienced climbers.

Liked - The pitch, we parked our van under a tree, in the shade. Pitch was spacious and we had enough privacy
Disliked - The toiletpaper. A couple times there was no toiletpaper, in none of the toilets! Or you couldn't reach for it..

Liked - The campsite is in a peaceful location and many of the pitches have beautiful views over the river and surrounding farmland.

The facilities were clean and modern.

The site is very popular with young families and can he noisy around the pool during the day but generally we were pleased with how peaceful the site was, especially at night time.

Disliked - The nearby towns are disappointingly quiet. Although you can get everything you need in Wassy or St Dizier, they are not particularly nice towns to visit.

This is a smaller site that does not offer hot food, meaning that if you do not want to cook you need to drive 10 minutes into Wassy for take away food. There is also n grocery shop on site.

Although we paid more for a privilege XL pitch, this meant we were next to the swimming pool and had absolutely no shade or privacy. If I were to visit again then I would opt for a normal pitch along the river which is cheaper but much nicer.

Liked - We really enjoyed our stay, the peace and quiet in wonderful countryside was just great. The sanitary facilities were very good and alwaysclean. The owners were very pleasant and friendly.
Disliked - When we arrived, the reception wasn't open. We waited several minutes before deciding to leave. The owners caught up with us just as we were going out through the gates, I'm sure they must lose potential customers by not having a manned reception. I think the site should sell a few essential supplies (a bread van does visit daily) - it's very rural with no nearby shops.
