Camping La Croix d'Arles is located in the southern part of the French Champagne-Ardenne region. The campsite is easily accessible from the N19 heading towards Vesoul and is located directly along the D974. The campsite is not only suitable for longer stays, it's also the ideal campsite for travellers passing through on their way south (or back north). The area surrounding the Langres Plateau is strewn with pine and broad-leaved trees, lakes, and streams.
Spend the night in a Mongolian yurt
As you find your way to the camping pitch, you will drive through a green area with many flowers and trees. The campsite is well-tended and, although it is busy during the peak season, you will find yourself in an oasis of tranquility. The camping pitches are spacious and have sufficient shade, especially the pitches at the back of the campsite. And would you like to try something different than the standard camping options? Book a night in an authentic Mongolian yurt!
Local produce on the menu
The campsite facilities may not always be modern, but they are clean and well-cared-for. In the campsite shop, you will find a small selection of bread and local produce. These products are also used in the dishes which you can eat in the restaurant on the campsite.
No room for boredom
The campsite features a playing field for the children and an outdoor swimming pool with a separate paddling pool. The swimming pool is well-tended and you can soak up the French sunshine on one of the poolside loungers. If you don't feel like swimming, you can also opt for a game of mini golf.

This is a lovely, large site , much of it set in woodland. It was used a lot by people staying overnight on their journey back to the Netherlands, which made it quite interesting. The site is run by a delightful friendly couple who speak excellent English and were extremely helpful. There is an excellent restaurant on site which was very busy, but provided us with very good meals at a very reasonable price.
Stayed for two nights in August 2017. This isn't necessarily somewhere you could stay for a week, but it is ideally placed for the journey south.
So I am rating this site as a transit stop, so most importantly, it is not far off the Peage. It fills up towards the afternoon and evening. The morning run to Calais is a leisurely six or seven hours towing
You are met by the manager, who is very friendly. Check in is the most relaxed I've come across. Go find a space and plug in. Pitches are large and are half hard, half grassed.
The site is partially wooded and very quiet, which we liked.
The only small criticism is that the toilets and washrooms are dated, although clean. Nice powerful showers.
Happy to add this site to the list of good places to stop for a days wine shopping before the ferry/tunnel.
A lovely setting with plenty of space, grass and trees. Easy access from the Motorway. Free wifi. Child friendly.
We received a very pleasant welcome from a very helpful Christopher. Well priced, free Wi-Fi, variety of pitches and, even after they had endured a lot of heavy rain, the pitches were all accessible. Only stayed 2 nights on route but happy with site.
Stayed for 2 nights. Well spaced pitches with hedging. Hot showers and clean blocks, no paper. Pitches alongside road were noisy, but further back were really quite. Electricity went out on one night from midnight to 6am. Free wi-fi by reception. We cycled into Arles along quiet country roads. Although we didn't use the pool, it looked clean and well kept.
We stopped one night on our way South in not very nice weather!! The man in the reception spoke English and was very helpful. Our hardstanding pitch was reasonable. The toilet block was in need of refurbishment, was cold and the water not too hot. The restaurant wasn't open and we had to sit in reception in order to get WiFi. Nice surrounding countryside though for walking the dog.
This is not a site we will be revisiting. Limited electrics, no grass cut, uneven and unlevel pitches, dirty and dilapidated sanitaries. It had a restaurant, which must be fantastic (we didn't use it) for the campsite to achieve the star rating it does. Otherwise it needs re-rating downwards.
Site near very busy road. Site not busy. Weather had been quite bad so most people elected to use hard standings close to the road which were too noisy for us. We used a pitch at the back of the site which was quiet. The grass was a bit long but there were cowslips in flower all over which was very pretty. Not all the sanitation blocks were open as it was low season and they were clean. Short car ride into Langres which was worth a visit. Stayed 2 nights. It did rain most of the time
