Travelling party: Couple

We arrived at this campsite at around 7pm and we were able to get a spot which was good BUT we then realised how muddy our camp area was and how long the grass was -very unkept. We couldn’t have a shower that night as the showers were locked and we couldn’t hook our electricity up because an adaptor was needed which was very annoying. This place is a little too far out from Paris for our liking (2 hrs public travel time on average). No toilet paper and have to pay extra for showers. Didn’t enjoy at all.

I travel a lot in France & have visited many campsites on my motorcycle, I visited this one in early August & found it to be very basic which is fine..... the tent pitches were large & plentiful, the toilets & showers were ok (shower cost 1.50 euro each visit) & onsite food was provided by a pizza van which visited twice during the 6 days I was there. The owner was at best, miserable & sarcastic & most certainly doesn't like anyone to leave the site before he unlocks the gate at 8.30 am (which I had to do at 7.30 in order to catch my ferry back to the UK!!). Would I visit again? I doubt it, but only because of his attitude & I can honestly say that this is the 1st bad experience I have had at any campsite in all my years of travelling in France.

Staff is friendly and helpful and the pitches are good, each one are separate plots. However the standard of the shower and toilet facilities is rather poor. There is no hot water for the basins, the push button taps are very hard to control. Lot of the times the water shoots out of the tap like from a fire hose. There are no toilet seats either! The shower operates with coins and they are rather expensive, 1.5 euros a piece. There is only one shower for men and one for women in a shower block.
There is a major highway nearby and there is a lot of noise from it even during the night.
