The Camping Le Grand Paris campsite is located about thirty kilometres north of Paris. The campsite is located close to the friendly village of Nesles-la-Vallée. Also, you are only ten minutes from the town of L'Isle Adam, where there is a train station (train to Paris). The green camping area (5.8 hectares) is full of trees that provide fine shade. There is also a small lake for fishing and boating. The campground restaurant is a nice place to grab a bite to eat.

Camping or renting?

The eighty camping sites are spacious and equipped with water and electricity. The degree of privacy varies, but the trees and shrubs provide all sorts of possibilities. This green camping decor is not only very pretty and soothing, it also provides shade.

There are also about seventy bungalows and one hundred mobile homes. Tip: book accommodation with a view of the lake. Fantastic!

Sport and games

Children can have fun in the playground and on the bouncy castle. There are also table tennis tables, a bocce court and a multi-sport court. On weekends (high season) there are shows and concerts. The campsite's petting zoo does especially well with the youngest campers. The beautiful recreation room has a pool table, a television and some slot machines.

Water fun for everyone

At the campsite, you can swim in a heated pool of modest size. There are deck chairs around the pool. For the little ones, there is a paddling pool with all kinds of water play equipment. The swimming complex is in full sunlight, so put on your sunscreen! Fishing can be done in the lake, as well as boating. Boats are available for rent at the campsite itself.

Liked - We liked…
- wildlife in the pond…otters, heron, geese, ducks, fish etc.
- pool was refreshing after a hot day
- pitch was fine…chose it ourselves and had a large pitch with a tree for shade.
- Toilets/showers were mostly clean
- Location ok…needed the car to go to the nearest town but L’isle Adam very nice and worth a visit. Paris fairly straight forward to get to on the train from L’isle Adam Parmain.
- Table tennis and tennis equipment available.

Disliked - - The man in reception seemed disinterested as if he didn’t want to be there…gave us a pitch at the far end of the site but said if any others were empty to choose one and go back and tell him. (Which we did but told his colleague at reception…who didn’t pass on the message)
- Hired a bbq but he explained he didn’t have one for us. Gave us free wifi instead and said he’d try and find a bbq. We chased this up mid way through the holiday and he said he had a bbq but hadn’t been able to find us…colleague had not told him where we were.
- no hot water in showers on first day..lukewarm otherwise.

Liked - Jay at reception was extremely helpful. Campsite was very clean and had lots of activities for younger kids. Great location with a town with shops not too far away.
Disliked - Some staff were unhelpful. Couldn’t leave our bags at reception so had to carry them all day on check in/out. Disco was loud and on very late some evenings. No restaurant or shop on site.

Liked - When we first arrived we were told someone was on our pitch and to drive round and find one we liked. The pitch we picked was perfect for us. Shaded under trees, close enough to showers and toilets. We would not of been happy in the pitch that was meant for us as that was the noisier end of the campsite right next to the pool. It's a great site for kids with a pool and a splash pool. Inflatables (although often far too hot to use) tennis courts basketball and football pitches and table tennis. Gorgeous area easy to get to everywhere.
Disliked - Unfortunately when we arrived we were told that the onsite shop and cafe were closed due to being sold there was a burger van but his menu was small and prices were very high. The pool is only sometime manned by a life guard but there doesn't seem to be many rules. The pools quite deep and it's only small so can be rammed

Liked - Lovely site apart from the staff.
Disliked - The staff had no control over the running of the site. We ordered sheets and paid for our caravan and was told no longer do this.. and just shrugged his shoulders. Came back from a day in Disney and our pitch had been taken by someone else. Was told the next day we should of seen security about it. Hardly going to go around the camp in the pitch dark to find another pitch. Not all pitches are suitable for camper vans. Not all pitches have electric supply. I feel they don’t check what a suitable pitch is for the individual. All we got was that’s one’s not available or just find one ourself

Travelling party: Family with children, 12 - 18 years

Liked - The area was very nice and got a large pitch. The pool was maintained and heated. Tennis courts and football were in good condition. And they had bouncy castle and paddling pool for the smaller kids.
Disliked - We got delayed on our trip and didn’t get there till 11.30pm and the staff were then going home. They didn’t want to let us in at first but of negotiation they did.
The showers and toilets were not very clean also showers were warm sometimes cold.No restaurant or night time Entertainment. Just music left on for the kids. No bar open either. They did have a burger van every night.
As there are barriers they give you a code to get in and out. Gates are fully closed at 11 As Disney is a hr away and fireworks finish at 11.15 your not getting in.
