We stayed here for 3 or 4 nights. A very quiet, very \"French\" site close to the Canal du Midi. There is a railway to one side, but the noise didn\'t intrude. Lots of dog walking and general walks (and cycle rides) along the canal. Small village, but one or two bars and restaurants at the port. We would suggest approaching from Montardy so as to avoid the very narrow streets in the village. Wash facilities spotless and included a nice parent & child unit. Also has a small heated block for winter use. A good overnight halt for those going further south - especially in the winter. As it was June the pool was open, but not the other facilities. We didn\'t use the pool, but it looked lovely.
This is a very busy campsite and apparently with new owners who are putting a lot of effort to improve the site. Well it may have a new toilet block, but the showers and washing up water were stone cold. The site is generally untidy with huge weeds growing between pitches. The electrical hook ups were like a third world leaning all over the place and with extension leads running all everywhere to reach pitches a long way off. The pitches were ill defined and one had a huge pothole filled with rubble. The railway at the back was noisy and the view of the rusting tanks hardly panoramic. The worse thing however, is the sewage works just outside the front of the site. Fortunately we were down wind of it, but every time we walked passed it you had a strong whiff of sewage. A real shame as the campsite is close to the canal de midi with a really nice town. The campsite may be work in progress, but there is a lot if work needed and not much progress.
We went to reception having booked a pitch we expected to have at least a reasonable one but were told to go to one nearest the noisy railway track which we declined. The rude response was one word 'WAIT'. We eventually picked a pitch we had used on a previous visit but were told that we could only stay 10 days not 14 that we had received confirmation of. The drain beneath a drinking water tap opposite to the pitch was blocked and the water had run run onto the pathway for so long green slime covered a 2 mt sq area. Although there were 6 toilet cubicles 3 were shut off all the time we were there with no attempt to fix them. After 1 week the toilet area had excrement coming up out of the drains all day and it was not blocked off so children walked through it. Many people we spoke to said how bad the place was. We stayed there 4 times with the previous owner but we will NEVER stay there again. The worst site we have ever stayed on anywhere in europe.
First time on this site in June 2013, using it as base to cycle part of Canal du Midi. Very convenient for the Canal and the coast and only a short ride from Beziers. Improvements tio reception and restaurant being made and will be agreat site soon. Heartily recommend it for short or long stay.
We found this site rather scruffy, not helped by the fact that they were building a new reception. Some pitches were of a reasonable size but others were small and very close together. The site is open all year and it appeared that some of the accommodation was residential. The sanitary block was clean. There is a heated section with three rooms each containing a toilet, shower and basin but it was a bit smelly. There is a railway depot next to the site and a high-speed line runs past. We found the noise somewhat intrusive.
It is a shortish walk to the Canal du Midi and the attractive village of Colombiers with a couple of good restaurants and a small supermarket.
Small to medium site on edge of Colombiers but well laid out to feel intimate. Easy half km walk or cycle to attractive canal-side town, and great cycle path to Beziers along canal du midi. Sanitary block is modern and partly heated. Street entrance to campsite looks a little like a workshop, but inside the site is open and attractive. Some noise from railway line but we didn't find it disturbing or unpleasant. Friendly management.
Near a small village on the Canal du Midi. Stayed here several times to visit friends near Béziers and always a friendly welcome. Open all year.
Very pleasant site excellent for trips out incl. Bezier and Narbonne. Nice for cycling along the canal du midi. Valpas beach also good. All this best out of season.
Came for one night and stayed for four - wonderful site.
Large pitches interspersed with a small number of residential vans.
Sanitary block is still slightly a work in progress but the completed part is entirely sufficient, well thought-out and to a high standard. Welcome is warm and subsequent light-touch supervision is ideal.
Fabulous site for motorhomers with a pleasant walk into the village with a small but sufficient number of shops, bars and restaurants around the marina. Great walking and cycling along the Canal du Midi only a short way from the site.
Rail line does run past the site but we forgot about it very quickly.
Wi-fi is good but if, like us, you have more than one device then the system only allows one to connect once you have initiated. You can't close one down and re-open with another. Not a big problem but the first time we had encountered it.
Hope we have the opportunity to return - this site meets our ideal specification exactly.
You can't miss the train line as it runs along the campsite; we stayed for one night in a tent but where tired and did fall asleep easy enough. Slight que to get into the showers but we've seen worse that for sure.
