Arrived in the afternoon to find the reception was closed, even though it was meant to be open. A camper suggested we chose pitch and came back. The site was very untidy with unkempt pitches and remains of open fires. Some of the electric points looked unsafe. Toilet block on inspection was full of building materials and unclean. We decided to leave immediately and went to the Municipal Campsite by the Lake which was amazing.
although very pleasant surroundings and the quietest place I have visited in many years, the owner was preoccupied with erecting giant tents which unfortunately he did not mention until after we had pitched up. Constant building noise from 8.00 am until 6,30 pm and on top of that the weekly grasscutting occupied all day. Maybe it is a site in transition from worn out to tented village.
We were unlucky when we visited this site as the bridge accross the lake was closed leaving us with a detour of around 10K up a very narrow road. Once at the site access was OK . The site is hilly but the pitches were reasonably flat. There weren\\\\\\\'t many other campers when we visited as it was near the end of the season so access to the pitch was easy. The restaurant on site looked good but we didn\\\\\\\'t try it.
Very spacious site with a laid back appeal. Pitches in general large. Visited in June and the site was behind on maintenance. Swimming pool empty, noise from building work and grass cutting. Eat at the chateau, food ok but lacked atmosphere as we were thinly ones dinning. Good location. Will probably visit again.
