This is a good basic camp for visiting the Limoges area with excellent dog walking (and swimming) outside the gates and in the local area. Be aware that the swimming pool featured in the brochure is not on site.
Very friendly owners who speak good English.
Beautifully maintained site with huge, flat pitches separated by small hedges, some with shade. Very friendly owner who greets all visitors personally and shows them round the site. Twice a week (Mondays and Fridays) he and his wife organise a three course meal in the bar. Local village has two restaurants and a bar. Surrounding area is pretty but not spectacular. Limoges well worth a visit as is Oradour sur Glane. There are a number of Chateaux built by Richard the Lionheart in the area but most are closed until July/August.
Dutch owned site with some enormous pitches – grassy, hedged and level. Wifi to pay – but couldn’t get on.
Lots of Brits on site whilst we were there – Rotarian Rally. New toilet block with warmish showers, no toilet paper. Walk to plan d’eau down the road with lots of frogs, manmade beach too, swimming possible.
We stayed here for 3 nights, we wanted to visit Oradour sur Glane and the campsite is perfect for this. The pitches are the biggest I have experianced and there will be a new toilet block for 2014 ( with toilet seats) the Dutch owners are very friendly and helpfull and do all they can to make your stay enjoyable. The site is quite a distance from the nearest village about a 40 minuet walk at a guess. We will use this site again next year especially if want to play golf.
Extremely friendly staff and good prices. Large pitches but only a little shade. The toilet door latches are unique but interesting when you learn how to use them. The lake shown though is not on the campsite but 1 kilometre away.
Lovely tidy campsite with very large pitches and new facility block. Owner greets all new arrivals. Bread delivered to each pitch is a bonus. Walks and cycle routes are provided. sorry to leave the site as we felt so comfortable here.
Very helpful owners, site well situated for walking and cycling - owners will supply you with maps. The swimming lake was nearby and we had it to ourselves - very pleasant. All facilities kept clean and tidy.
This is our favourite site in France, large pitches and beautiful surroundings; the Dutch family that own it are very friendly and hardworking, everywhere is very clean and tidy will return for sure.
Visited the site in September 2015 so many things were closed/not available as expected. The swimming pool was closed but looked attractive though may be a little small if site were full. Pitches are mostly larger than on many sites. Pitched a twin axle caravan without any problem. Pitches marked out with low hedges and fences. There are not many sites where your morning bread is delivered to the door or where the owner shows you around before you choose your pitch!
Really pleasant husband and wife team who are always available to help.
Toilet block is probably the cleanest we have ever seen. Although two years old the block looked as if it opened that week!!
Would certainly recommend it and will definitely return.
We spent 7 enjoyable days at Camping des Alouettes. On arrival the friendly owner showed us around the site and answered any questions. The toilets although not new were very clean and adequate. The WiFi at 1 euro/day was good value and one of the best camping WiFi I have used. Good size pitches with water nearby. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this site if in the area. An excellent value site for our needs.
