Detail information about this campsite
"The camp site is located directly at the port of Grandcamp-Maisy. You can choose a pitch at the sea side or the more sheltered and marked pitches in the middle of the ground. At only a few kilometers from Pointe du Hoc and the famous landing beaches of Omaha Beach, the American military cemetery of Colleville and the German military cemetery of La Cambe. A perfect base for visiting the many monuments for WW II."

Stayed here in September 2017. Never again. Site is very cramped, and looks tired. Most pitches are very difficult to navigate. The shower block is not good. The water was cold and when I asked for the temperature to be increased they said yes but still the next day nothing was done about it. The location is great but I would strongly advise to find another site. French camping at it\'s worst.
This a really nice camping place, handy to a great fishing port/village. Great for walking or bike riding. The village itself has many cafes and bars. There is a supermarket close by which is great. The fish markets are held every morning and worth a visit. Definitely would recommend . The pitch we chose was on the very front section, fantastic view to watch the boats and wildlife

The site was easy to find & sign posted well. The site had no facilities, no shop, swimming pool or even a communal area, I have never stayed at a campsite for nearly a week & nobody talks to you. The staff were not very friendly. The nearest beach was unusable, it was covered in seaweed although the beach the other side of the harbour was very good. The site was like a gypsy site come grave yard for old caravans. On the good side its perfect for visiting all the museums & sites related to the D-Day landings with plenty to see & places to go. The museum entry prices were reasonable too. It was right next to a pretty harbour & a 5 minute walk from the small town. The town its self was very pretty & nicely kept, the streets were spotless & flowers every where. There was the usual shops in the town so you can buy just about any thing you would need. Just a five minute drive away was a medium sized supermarket where again you could just about get any thing including camping gas.
Use this site as only an emergency stop if you cannot get in anywhere else. It was full of old caravans which seemed to be past there 'Touring' life and bodged up to make a static. A lot of the caravans were filthy and unkempt, felt like a 'Travellers' site. The toilet block which seemed new was ok.
One of the poorest sites I've ever stayed on! Stayed just 1 night. Brusque, unfriendly 'welcome'. Facilites unkept and dirty with no lighting and a LONG walk from pitch due to closure of cut through path. Site mainly full of unkept statics. Mobiles were all up on ridge immediately above sea. This meant a good view but very exposed. Ground just sand with a little grass and no sevices other than electricity. No delineation of pitches. Never found a motorhome service area. However, is literally within of a lovely little harbour town so handy for amenites and certainly handy for beach!
Stayed here in Sept 2011. Toilet and shower facilities poor, need a good clean, not sure when they were last cleaned, mould growing on shower walls etc. Also not very warm. Toilet roll holders but no toilet roll. Site as a whole needed some t.l.c. Lots to do in the area with normandy beaches etc but choose another site!
We visited this campsite in June 2011. Many very old (and some seemingly unkept) seasonal/static caravans. Nearly turned round and went back out! Had only planned to stay a couple of nights and did find a pitch in a fairly decent area towards the back of the site. Toilet & shower facilities were ok. No apparent entertainment/sport facilities while were there. Good area for visiting Normandy D-Day beaches etc
