Detail information about this campsite
"Quietly located camp site with marked pitches and a lot of vegetation near the Pegasus-bridge. Excellent base to visit the many war memorials in Normandië. Ranville was the first place that was liberated on D-day."

We stayed here for 3 nights but could have stayed longer, had we not other areas we wanted to explore and limited time. The camp is really peaceful and spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend. You can walk to Pegasus bridge and the museum, however the walk is not too pleasant as it is along a busy highway. The village of Ranville, a short distance away was peaceful, clean and as UK phone box close to the stunning Commonwealth cemetery, it was breathtaking.
This site is obviously well kept with hedges trimmed etc. We only saw the staff member for 5 minutes during our 4 night stay because out of season you have to push a button and she comes in her car to the reception area. You are given a number for the security barrier. Pitches are all grass so a little damp in the winter but flat and hedged which is nice.
20 mins to the Caen ferry port and 5 mins from Pegasus bridge and not to be missed museum.
The facilities are vey old but spotlessly clean - The downside is that they are not heated and the showers are tepid!! Such a shame because this spoilt our visit.
We visit this campsite every year for the debarkamant week, and sometimes again for November 11th. The staff are friendly and do everything they can to be helpful. The site is well kept, and the Ranville people are so friendly, and grateful for what the English did for them on June 6th, and afterwards. Would go back to the site any day.
We stayed here for three nights in conjunction with the Beauregard Festival, during which time the site was fully booked. Our plot was spacious enough to accommodate the 4-man tent and the car.
The reception has a variety of basic items for sale. The staff speak limited English. Wi-fi is available but costs 1 Euro per hour and reception is patchy.
The shower block is of a reasonable standard but the toilets had no seats and no paper. With only three showers in the male block, there were always queues to use them. There was also a single washing machine and dryer for laundry.
Festival-goers wandered around the site every morning between about 4.00am and 6.00am, partying and making lots of noise. There was no indication of any security present to intervene and stop the noise.
An excellent site, with very friendly owners. Many people return year after year. There are some pitches with hedges and others are just open.
Climbing frames etc for children, but no entertainment.
