This lovely four star campsite is located in Normandy, near the town of La Hay-du-Puits. You'll camp here near Cherbourg, Granville and the Mont Saint Michel. The spacious camping pitches on L'Etang des Haizes have space for tents and caravans, but you can also rent mobile homes and fully furnished tents. The campsite has a focus on quality, whereby respect for the environment and the surrounding area is also important.

A great place to camp

You'll arrive on an open, very well maintained campsite where there is an eye for detail. The camping pitches are numbered and you pitch your stent, caravan or camper on a nicely maintained lawn. The pitches are spacious enough (90-100 m2) for a car, caravan and a few tents for the kids. And even then you'll have sufficient living space.

The heart of the campsite

Cantral on campsite L'Etang des Haizes there is a large swimming pool, which has water slides and plenty of space for playing children and lap swimmers. In addition to this swimming pool there is a large pond, where you can pedal. There is a bar with a lovely terrace next to the swimming pool. A nice drink after swimming? It's waiting for you!

In summer, activities such as archery, a ping-pong tournament or bingo and quiz nights are organised. If the weather doesn't play ball, there is a covered recreation space.

Shop and sanitary facilities

As everything on this campsite, the sanitary facilities are also first rate. The sanitary facilities are also heated, which is great when the weather is a bit colder. The camping shop has only the bare necessities, but there is a reasonable selection of shops in nearby La Hay-du-Puits.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years

Liked - Everyone was very friendly, there was lots for the children to do, the pool was fantastic and very clean.
Disliked - We tried to rent a bbq as they were advertised for hire, but there wasn’t any left.

Travelling party: Family with children, 12 - 18 years

Liked - Everything so clean and looked after by Patrice and his team. Pool with slides and jacuzzi were great. 2 Supermarkets minutes away by car. Lovely market every Wednesday in the town. Plenty to see and do on-site and near by. You can hire a fridge which makes such as difference. Lovely lake to fish in and enjoy a pedalo ride.

Liked - We really enjoyed the swimming pool and the older children especially enjoyed the water slides never too busy, the fishing on site went down well with all of us with smiles all round some lovely catches. Very friendly and clean. Lovely location to some beautiful days out. Can’t wait to rebook.

Liked - Lovely site clean, tidy, friendly staff. We even had a couple of washing up stations right next to our pitch so we didn't have to carry it all the way to the wash block.
Disliked - Although lovely and clean and always hot the showers were not very powerful.

Liked - Fantastic campsite in beautiful location. The campsite is run by friendly efficient staff, who are always available for help and advice.
Disliked - Being the beginning of the season not all the facilities were open. The snack bar was closed on a number of days when we were there. Not a big inconvenience as there are plenty facilities in the nearby town which is only a short walk from the site.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years

Stayed from start of July through to near end. The campsite is excellent with very clean facilities and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Activities don’t kick off until second week in July but when they do they have numerous things for all the family. One to not miss is the bbq evenings these are great fun and the food is delicious. Am aiming to be back again this next summer!

Liked - We like the area, close to the D-Day landing beach’s and much more, a short walk into town and everything you need is there, shops, restaurants, bars etc
Disliked - We were earlier this year so site not fully open, bar/ snack bar open for a couple of hours at night, would have been nice after a long hot day on the motorcycle to have a cold beer or to chill in the afternoon, but unfortunately not this time??
