La Gallouette is a coastal campsite on the edge of the fishing town of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue on the Normandy peninsula of Cotentin. You'll camp here on a quiet campsite with an open character, directly on the bay.

Welcome!

The campsite is located in the northeast of Cotentin Peninsula in Normandy. 110 spacious touring pitches are situated on neat, beautifully tended lawns, all separated by hedges. The Mobile homes are on the side of the terrain, separated from the touring pitches.

A heated pool

The swimming pool is located next to the reception building, where you will also find the restaurant with snacks. The spacious pool is heated. Next to the pool is a round paddling pool. If the little ones get tired of the water, they can let off steam in the playground. There are two sanitary blocks on the campsite. The friendly staff is busy cleaning all day long, so the sanitary facilities are always clean and fresh.

Fort de la Hougue

The area is a wonderful walking and cycling area. For example, walk along the narrow spit of land. At the end is the former fortress of La Hougue with its tower, from where the view over the Sea and Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue is beautiful.

Liked - We stopped here on arrival in France. We've stayed at St Vaast before, so we knew what to expect. There were some problems with our vaccination certificates (Northern Ireland certificates are not yet compatible with the French verification system). However, this was overcome follwing manual checking of our documentation.

Liked - We had a wonderful holiday at camping La Gallouette. The pitches were all large & we were lucky enough to be on one that had the sun on it all day. The toilet block was always clean. The bistro looked good but we didn't have a meal from it, but we did get our morning bread from it. All the staff were very helpful & didn't mind us practicising our french on them !!

Liked - We have stayed here on three occasions and each time has been wonderful. This time was especially good, because of Covid, all necessary precautions were taken to ensure safety of us clients. As always the reception were helpful and friendly.

Liked - On arrival at reception we were greeted with a lovely smile. The site is well maintained and very clean. It is ideal for a stroll to the harbour town where there is a great selection of shops and restaurants. Will definitely look to visit again.
