There are many campsites around Millau but this one stood out. A lovely couple run it, really helpful and friendly – they seem to work 24 hour days! Situated on the river Tarn and, in contrast with the neighbouring sites, quiet and peaceful. Facilities kept spotless and this was the only site we found in France that had 2 shower and 2 washbasin cubicles that were heated, a real blessing on cold, April mornings. Pitches a good size, level with hedges separating and trees for shade. A 10-minute walk over the bridge and you are in the centre of town.
We only intended this as a stop-over but the site and surrounding area so nice we stayed a week.
Also a brilliant price for ACSI card + 7 nights for 6.
Spotted from the road opposite, booked in meaning to stay 2 nights stayed 9. On the second night sadly our very old dog passed away (he had two passports he had been in Europe touring so much), lady in reception was wonderful, booked us in at English speaking vet in town for his cremation. Beautiful well kept site and lovely friendly staff. Thankyou. ps we went to Spain didn't like so went back to Les Erables for another week. Will be back again asap.
On morning of departure power failed in campsite and when reinstated an over voltage in the supply (according to the experts and the Motorhome manufacturer) caused the printed circuit boards in the fridge, boiler and charger to burn out leaving us with a repair bill of approximately £900 and a van unfit for use for almost 2 months. Our van was only 3 months old at the time and none of the work was covered by warranty because it was an external fault. Site management refused to take any responsibility. Beware!
There are quite a few ACSI sites along the banks of the Tarn in Millau and it was as much be chance that we picked this one and we were very glad we did. A good range of pitches available that we well looked after and well sized, shady through to unshaded. There is only one facilities block which can be a little awkward when it is being cleaned however it was kept extremely well cleaned. The site was within easy walking distance of the centre of the town. The couple who run the site really could not have been nicer and were always welcoming and helpful. Throw in free wifi and the (ACSI) pricetag and we feel this is a very good value site indeed. We stayed longer than we planned and will return there again some day I hope.
Hemos estado con mi esposa el 25 de Agosto.
Personal excelente.. facilidades par acceder a las plazas, servicios muy limpios y muy acesibles.
En concrteo un camping super recomendable.
We stayed here for 5 days, early June. The pitches are a good size and well maintained with good access. The ones on the river bank are very attractive. The sanitaires are unisex, very clean and quite modern. The shower water is warm rather than hot and there being no toilet paper is iritating. The staff are fine but no English spoken. The bar area is fine but poor selection of wine. There is free wifi in the bar area. This is the best site for bird watching I've stayed on. Millau is a very nice and interesting town with good shops and restaurants/bars. But it is also a lively town and this is not the place to come for peace and quiet. There is high traffic noise from the other side of the river and there was loud music on 2 of our 5 nights in a nearby bar. We have been to Millau before and we like the site and the town and will come again.
Initially booked for two nights and ended staying for five, and will return again. Lovely site with good size pitches and plenty of room to manoeuvre. Toilets and showers spotless. Nice friendly couple run it.
Only intended to stay a couple of nights but ended up staying 5. Right on the banks of the Tarn and very near where the Dourbie joins it. Pitches are a good size and well kept and there's good shade if you need it. The facilities are clean and well looked after. Staff are very helpful and there's a pleasant town within easy walking distance. Lots to do locally if you like kayaking, paraglyding, walking or cycling. I will go back there again.
