Had a great week on this site, beginning of July. Great pool, with good sunbeds and parasol. Never had a problem finding a bed.
We had dinner in the restaurant a couple of times, the food was superb and good value.
The site owners, Stuart & Sheila were very friendly and helpful with advise and booking excursions for us.
Beautiful grounds and large pitches, combined with the fact that this is an adult only site, make this a very peaceful campsite. The showers and toilets are fine if a little dated (no toilet paper, which is disappointing for an English run site). Expensive in high season, so being asked for an extra to use the tennis court felt a bit unfair ( nobody used it while we were there). Friendly owners who are happy to recommend days out. Restaurant fine but food must be ordered in advance.
Beautiful peaceful site, amazing wildlife in the evenings. Food cooked by Sheila is fabulous. Pool always is wonderful. Showers and toilets always immaculate. Carlucet village nearby and always a delight to cycle to.
A superb site , more enjoyable by being adult only.Stewart ,family and staff were efficient and amenable at all times.Did not eat in restaurant but all reports were very positive.many happy hours spent at and in the great pool. Site in a good area to visit interesting sites in Quercy and Dordogne.Avery enjoyable stay which we hope to repeat.
Lovely area and pitches very good & private. Not good when damp as the facilities were extremely damp and only cold water for showers & washing up.
We booked this site at the NEC motorhome show in October last year, having spoken with Sheila & Stuart, the owners, (several times over the last few years of going to the show). It seemed to good to be true an Adult Only site in France and it was absolutely 'Fabulous' probably the best , certainly the most relaxing holiday we have ever had in 27 years of caravanning. A Great BIG thank you to Sheila, Stuart and all their superb staff who really went out of their way to make sure everything was just right. Fortunately it won't suit everybody otherwise it would be impossible to get a pitch. Whilst we were there we had the misfortune of witnessing on 2 seperate occasions newly arrived clients who spoke to the staff and owners with such dis-respect the likes of which I have never seen. If you don't like it, don't stay but don't take it out on the staff they all work exceptionally hard to make everyones holiday as pleasant as possible.
We cannot recommend Chateau de Lacomte HIGHLY enough.
Great stay 2 weeks. Booked 2 weeks for next year. No complaints. Quiet, dead relaxed, owners & staff put loads of effort in and are very helpful. Brill pool and well spaced site. Well chilled. Good food, makes bread so you have to order day prior. No children hear so good site. Owner always seems to be doing something for someone. Left our van there over winter. Seems to me there are a few moaning growners on here. This site should be top of list. All sites have rules for a reason. Excellent place.
Third visit in three years. Great site for a very quiet and relaxing holiday. Many places of interest nearby.
Stayed 2 wks at end of June '12, having pre-booked through Caravan Club. Excellent location, rather isolated. Quiet, lots of wildlife, peaceful. Site was clean and tidy throughout, including toilets and showers. Excellent swimming pool. Our pitch was generous in size, gently sloping, but some were much smaller and quite steep. Water, drainage & electric(10A) on all pitches, but drainage point didn't work well and was too high to drain into by gravity - pity! Washing machines (expensive) very poor for first week, suddenly replaced by two new ones just before club inspector arrived! Weekly quiz night good opportunity to meet people, but barbecue night had poor, overcooked food, quite expensive and live music much too loud. Minimal items available in 'shop' and morning bread/croissants were poor quality(frozen?). Biggest problem was the unpleasant, arrogant owner who was much more interested in taking customers' money than in giving good, friendly, service. Sadly will not return.
